I just wanted to say that you are one of the very few makeup focused content creators that I still watch. I have been watching KZbin for about 10 years and have unfollowed 99 percent of the people I used to watch. For me it’s not just about the product reviews but also about the person. I don’t want to watch content from someone I don’t feel like I would be friends with in real life. I like that first and foremost you are a mom doing mom things.

As viewers we do really value and appreciate the honesty of a content creator, and we do know when they aren’t being completely truthful. This is the very reason you are so dearly loved. We can count on you to be honest. I can’t tell you how betrayed I have felt listening to to someone’s recommendations about a product only to purchase and not be happy and to see they never mention it again ever on their channel or even use it on their face. There is one delightful content creator who is just over the moon in love and so excited about every product and I can no longer watch no matter how delightful she may be because she just “LOVES” everything. It’s not genuine. You are genuine Charlotte and for that I’m sooooo very grateful!!!

Laura Mercier, Bare Minerals and Nars all used to be owned by Shiseido, and so my guess is that if you were getting PR from LM and Nars, that was why. However, in 2021, Bare Minerals and Laura Mercier were sold to Orveon Global. So I wonder if that was the time that you stopped getting PR, because it would make sense that a new owner and a new PR agency might just re-evaluate everything regardless of whether you had done anything wrong.

I started to watch KZbin content creators around summertime. After some time went by, I started to realized who is giving their honest reviews. The ones that always say, about new releases. “This is a must have”. “I can’t stop wearing this”. “I’m just obsessed with this”. It didn’t take me long to realize that they are not giving their honest reviews. Which to me indicates that they are being deceptive. I appreciate watching your Channel because you give honest reviews. Thank you for caring about us that appreciate you so very much. Bobbie Brown was the only makeup brand to believe in themselves. This speaks volumes to me not only about their makeup but about who really is a genuine KZbin creator. That’s you, love.

Sometimes is not that they do not love you anymore, is that marketing maybe does not have investment to do so in the way they would wanted. I work at marketing, this is why i know some times is not about the content creator, but due to budgets. The thing that I learnt today is that brands need to communicate more clearly the why. Hopefully you are still in their lists, as I do really love your content and your opinion. I have purchased various products due to your honest reviews. And 10K times i would follow your lead rather than big content creators that are only for the money (to be very clear there are some worth following, not everybody is the same). But your comments and opinions are very accurate. This is why I follow you. ❤❤❤

Completely agree. I won't mention names as it's unfair, but I know one content creator with quite a large following who dishes smaller companies who send PR ie their products but overtly praises the bigger brands she gets PR from. It's almost as if she wants to seem legit for giving some bad reviews but it's very calculated in reality who she's giving the honest reviews for as the reviews are so binarised. For instance, I've never heard her even give a slight critique of a CT, Laura Mercier, Hourglass or Fenty products etc but lesser known brands she'll give a more balanced appraisal. She never reviews Chanel either and I'm thinking it's because she doesn't get free PR (Chanel won't even allow customers to leave reviews on their products so it wouldn't surprise me if no one got PR). It just all seems incredibly suspect to me when you really start to take a step back & analyse her channel. I don't want to single her out specifically as there's plenty of KZbinrs that operate in a similar vain. I've started unsubscribing to such channels as I can't trust their reviews. I stick to Charlotte & Nikki La Rose 😊

I work in PR. I don’t think most brands are going to communicate the why. I probably would really have to think about it before I would. But you are right that it’s often budget or shift in direction and nothing more.

Also, it could just be that your channels’ main audience doesn’t align with the brand’s target market, therefore it’s not worth the brand’s budget to send you PR. I feel like a couple of the brands mentioned like Milk Makeup, Pixie and Urban Decay target a specific, and dare I say it, younger market and the type of look they promote don’t necessarily appeal to those of us who watch your channel.

Reputable brands are smart enough to align with reputable creators. It is impossible to hit a home run every single time for every single customer, they know this. Whether or not you get PR, I’ll *ALWAYS* be a subscriber because I watch your channel for real reviews. Brands would be foolish to ignore your channel. Super interesting! I imagine that PR is really a mixed blessing. So fun and cool to receive free products! But also, I can imagine it could be overwhelming, particularly with brands that have a large volume of products or that do these huge PR packages that have other things in addition to the product that then you have to find a place for or get rid of. I can also imagine that it still feels like pressure to review things even when you may have other things scheduled for your channel.

People like you are the best reviewers. Not everything from any company can always be amazing and perfect. I do not watch anyone that says everything is great. I also review items on another platform for one particular company and I was so excited when I finally got some PR. However, that didn't last very long as I was completely honest in my reviews and noticed other people were still receiving huge packages and I was getting nothing. I refuse to say everything is amazing when it isn't as it goes against my morals.

Yes 💯 we are all different, and if brands are that sensitive, then they are clearly kidding themselves. The fact that some beauty creators give thorough honest reviews to help others make decisions about products is good. I am always sceptical if a creator loves everything and take their opinion with a pinch of salt and usually stop watching them... lets face it we only have so much time in the day to watch YT so only going to invest time in those that I find helpful, honest and authentic... keep up the good work I appreciate your hard work 😊
