Introducing: Charlton Athletic Ability Counts

Charlton Athletic Ability Counts is a CACT-affiliated pan-disability programme, training every week at Sparrows Lane.
The programme provides players with a range of disabilities from physical impairments to neurodiversity an opportunity to enjoy their love of football in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

I'm a long-time Charlton fan and had no idea about this or its existence. This looks brilliant. It's great that these guys and girls have an opportunity like this. Finding and making friends who have the same interest or passion for something is difficult, especially when you lack confidence and feel like you don't fit in or are a bit of an outsider. This program will help them to overcome these obstacles in an environment they feel safe and welcomed. I'm sure the respect they are shown by all the staff/trainers combined with peer support from their teammates and friends will do wonders for their self-confidence, self-belief and make their journeys from childhood to adulthood a more pleasurable experience.
