As someone who has been following KOTD (largely and solely because of Hollohan and Pat Stay) this is incredible to see. The history, the in depth stories that all these amazing battlers and extremely talented individuals have gone through that many people are not keen to sheds light on the industry and tribulations they’ve all faced. I’ve been watching your come back Hollohan and just wanted to say keep up the amazing work man. You have tons of people who are supporting you and who are in your corner. Props to Charron for speaking truth on this. #LLPS and help keep his legacy going. Much love and respect to you all 🤝keep on keeping on

Hollohan! Charron! Thank you so much for posting this. I love the back story and insights into Pat Stay from those who were close to him. Charron - I met you at the event with your battle against Rone. You were humble and chatted me up. You’re a stand up guy with incredible talent yourself. One the GOAT freestylers. Your battle against DNA is still one I rewatch. Hollohan - I remember when you released Love and Addiction. So incredible I watched it on repeat. So raw. You’re such an articulate and passionate storyteller. Thanks for uploading this!

R.I.P Pat Stay ! His legacy is unmatched. I remember having a phone conversation with him in 2008-09. He sent me extra shirts even the MJ steal toe boots one. Such a humble guy. Even bought the G.O.D FREE Hollohan T...Bender ripped me off, artwork of my children. Kinda knew the timing was bad as he was battling addiction. Battle rap hasnt been the same since we lost them both.

Part of truly iconic history. Legends. The only thing I am upset about is that the people involved never got actually rich (Hollohan, Pat Stay, Charron) - all clearly insanely talented guys with strong work ethic. If they'd start this league now, in era how much views social media is generating now, these guys would have generational wealth. But it's not too late. I still hope one day we get a Hollohan album from his old style (been a minute anyone's made anything similar to Hollohan/Lex/Whatevski horrorcore type of music) but it's unlikely to happen.

R.I.P Pat Stay! ❤ One of the best Battle Rappers ever. It's a shame I never got to attend any of these battles as I am from Poland. Where such a thing doesn't really exist. I came across Pat Stay and Hollohan by an accident. One of my favourite Hip Hop groups The Palmer Squares (From Chicago) had a cypher in which they called out Dumbfounded so I just clicked in Dumbfoundead's freestyle, then I came across Dumbfoundead's battle raps along with Sahtyre (which was all new to me, but I loved it). After that I became a fan and came across Pat Stay and Hollohan! These guys really were something else! I still enjoy replaying their battles to this day.

Hopefully this brings what Pat meant to you closer to home for those who may not have really grasped how close ya’ll were! Y’all were brothers and I’m truly sorry for your loss. You know, we met and connected over this music shit, on Fortnite of all fucking things, so what that tells me is that we met for a reason. Only time will fully tell why, but I know YOU are destined for great things. I also know that when you told me, “Pat would have loved this beat you made” that it truly inspired me and made me happy to think someone who meant so much to you and so much to the scene would have actually liked some of the work I did. I’m forever thankful for our memories and that compliment, truly. Keep doing what you do, Hollohan! #LLPS

Umm, I gotta disagree with Charron on one thing, and I know my history just as well. It was never white vs black battle rap, it was street/written vs freestyle. WRC's, Grind Time, Jump off, Scribble Jam, and whoever else had plenty of black battlers. It was just more of a mixed pool in comparison to a format like Fight Klub, or Smack DVD, who also had whites, but far fewer (Solomon/Nems etc). What it really was, was freestyle vs written format, and once the freestyle format died, it then evolved into more writtens with accents of freestyle (KOTD and Grind Time). Long story short, the streets were the first to wholly embrace written battles openly, while WRC's and Scribble did not. Eventually the two worlds merged together with Okwerdz vs Arsonal, which was a vision of Lush One, who is arguably the most important single person influence on battling, period. You could also argue that Math and Solomon did it first, but Solomon at the time was embraced as a street artist. So yeah, it wasn't white and black. It was this culture, and that culture, until it became one. Again, because of Lush One.
