I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio of $450k dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

There are many other interesting stocks in many industries that you might follow. You don't have to act on every forecast, so I'll suggest that you work with a financial advisor who can help you choose the best times to purchase and sell the shares or ETFs you want to acquire.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

Well, there are a few out there who know what they are doing. I tried a few in the past years, but I’ve been with Melissa Terri Swayne for the last five years or so, and her returns have been pretty much amazing.

It just struck me today... a counter thesis to treasuries being rigged, is that they may well not be rigged, all the time. And, one may argue, that the Fed may well let bad tape play now and then. What a powerful tool! Clearly they need to hike, and their talk has been ineffective the last YEAR. Bond markets have priced out nearly all of the cuts, yet many retail traders are ignorant of their success. Blood is in the water with banks over the last few years. BTFP is done. Offside banks want to float? THEY may be the down pressure on bonds.

I'm tired of these new buys every week, just to make up some assets with low percentage on my $236k portfolio and try to keep everything around 10%. Do you think these stocks you just mentioned are safe buys to outperform the market this year?

For me. I would avoid the index funds, mutual funds, or specific stocks for the time being. The 5% fixed incomes are the safest bet for now. Save your cash for when the market actually shows sign of recovery. Or hire a good market strategist

Agreed. I deal with an investment advisor for this reason. I currently have over $800k invested in a diversified portfolio that has grown exponentially and is suitable for all market seasons. Our current project for this year is a more concrete ballpark target.

I get the impression none of you really understand the principle (art?) of selecting, optimizing moving averages. There IS a methodology for picking the best moving average. One thing I can guarantee you, however, neither the 50, 150, or 200 is the best.

Put yesterday's date, April 20, 2024, in your calendars. It was the day that the USD lost it's reserve currency status. It will take a few years now as trades and US denominated debt unwinds, but, the game is now over. BREAKING: US House of Representatives approves confiscation of frozen Russian assets in the US and handing them over to Ukraine. Folks the world you knew just changed. Again, it will take a few years to unfold due to debt obligations and the EuroDollar market to adjust. Expect extreme volatility in currency markets.

Money advice varies, what works for one may not for another, but planning is key. Exposed to personal finance early, I started working at 19, bought my first home at 28, faced job loss at 36 during COVID. Consulting a CFP helped grow my finances. Currently, I'm 25% short of my $5m goal.
