The David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights brought together its past Constitutional Litigators in Residence for a special conversation with Executive Director, Cheryl Milne, reflecting on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms at 40 years.

Mary Eberts

Canadian constitutional lawyer and human rights advocate. Recognition of her work includes appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada. Influential in creation of Section 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and founding member of Women’s Legal Action and Education Fund (LEAF). She served as litigation counsel for the Native Women’s Association of Canada for over 20 years.
