Hello Everyone, I’m Muhammad Haseeb Akbar. I understand this group is for professionals, but I’m seeking career counseling. I completed my FSC Pre-Engineering in 2023 with an 87% score and am currently enrolled in BS Computer Science at UET Lahore KSK Campus, where I’m in my 3rd semester. I enjoy math and calculations, which leads me to believe that pursuing a career in Chartered Accountancy (CA) might suit me well, given its emphasis on calculations and predictions. While I find programming manageable, I struggle with a lack of interest, which has made continuing in Computer Science challenging. I’d like honest advice: should I stay in Computer Science, or should I transition to CA? I’m drawn to the idea of a challenging career and the potential for a better life post-CA. If anyone in this group has experience with the CA journey, your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your guidance!

I'm currently involved in CA studies. I can guide you through your concerns. Firstly, the math in CA is not advanced like calculus in CS; it's only covered in the 1st level of CA with basic maths and stats. In CA, you'll deal with figures, numbers, case studies, and real-world business scnerios. CA is challenging, but consistency and hard work are key. I've passed my exams in the first attempt with Allah's help, despite not being a topper. If you lack interest in programming and are willing to put in effort, consider CA. Ultimately, choose the path you're comfortable with, as CA and CS both are different fields. Consider your future goals , identify you interest i.e ( programming OR accounting & finance) and make a decision.

Wa alaikum us salaam It depends upon your interests both are good options but what I did was Pre-engineering in Fsc and then CA bcz if I was unable to do CA I can switch to engineering but I if had done commerce in First and Second year then I have only commerce as an option. So, choose as per your interest.

So basically if you can't work under pressure or in a competitive environment and are not in a really good financial state (financial state is lia mention ki kiyon ki skill ka sath university ka tag zarori hai for better exposure) if you are in these 3 condition go for CA of you are opposite of these mentioned condition go for CS
