@@Leo-ue6xz an explanation for the origins of this melody is that Hispanic Jews ( Sephardetes ) brought it from Spain to the Ottoman Empire in late 16th century when they were kicked out from Spanish Empire and Ottoman Empire became their new home. So Greeks, Ottomans, Bulgarians and other folks took that melody and created their own songs. We should just use this song as a symbol of unity rather than fighting for it.

@@ΕλληνικόςΕθνικισμός-δ4ν I agree with you at some point. Actually I am not sure on the origins of this song. I’ve watched a documentary about this folk song’s jewish past, I’ve also read a comment about its roots going back to Scots.

Too bad you are a nationalist and therefore unable to understand that in a multi-ethnic area like the Ottoman Empire, music had no borders and some pieces of music have many versions, in many languages. We all know what a fascist country Turkey has become, but I hope not all Turks are as fascist as you. I'm sure there are good people out there.

@@Greekfolkmusic1 dostum biz faşist değiliz. adalarımıza el koyarsanız ve kıbrıs'ın size ait olduğunu iddia ederseniz arkanıza avrupa birliği'ni alıp şımarık bi çocuk gibi türkiye'ye sataşırsanız cezanızı çekersiniz. benim yunanlarla bir derdim yok. benim derdim yüzlercd yıllık kültürel değerlerimizi(yemeklerimiz, müziklerimiz...) sahiplenen insanlarla. yoksa müzik evrenseldir tabi ki. ancak yunan halk müziği yazmanız doğru değil. ancak siz de medya propagandalarına kanıp türkiye gibi yardımsever, misafirperver bir ülkeye faşist gibi sıfatlar yakıştırırsanız kaybeden siz olursunuz.

@@anonim.v Have you ever sat down only for a minute and considered the possibility that your own media is lying to you? Have you ever thought that Erdogan and your political system in general is trying to distract you from real human problems such as poverty, unemployment and hunger? I have visited Turkey twice and indeed I have the best memories. I consider the Turks as friends. But, the Aegean islands are inhabited by a purely Greek population and they belong to Greece. I don't see the reason why the borders between Greece and Turkey should change, but if you want a war, then all of us Greeks are ready to fight to the death. My opinion is that you should choose peace, because in a war only death and the rich win. All of us, Greeks and Turks, will die for no reason. Remember that the enemy is not the Greek or the Turk, but the economic system.

Is it difficult to understand that in the Balkans and in the East the tradition is similar and common melodies can be traced in many states? Are you not aware of the documentary "Who is this song?" which traces the song Üsküdar'a Gider İken throughout the Balkans? You can see part of the documentary here (in Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Serbia). kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJikh4aknbKVbqs In addition, the song is also found in Eastern countries, such as Israel and Egypt. Here is another interpretation from the four countries (Greece, Turkey, Israel and Egypt). kzbin.info/www/bejne/iorOqpaMacuLeKs So open your mind a bit...

Dr. Georgios Nacracas wrote the same thing.I watched the videos you sent. Those who speak there call it Turkish song, but don't be angry.Imam is a mosque attendant. But IMAM BAILDI is Greek food.!!!
