I know this is an old vid but the best of the many I’ve seen on this pedal and the one that persuaded me to pull the trigger. I already knew this pedal would do extremely weird sounds but really appreciate the fact you’ve demo’d a lot of the musical (I.e. actually useable) sounds you can get out of it.

@aBunchOfPedals5 жыл бұрын
guysiah Yea definitely! Ramping the pre delay can give you some nice and subtle modulation. Gotta do it in small doses though or it gets a little too weird. That’s one of the thing I like most about CBA pedals... the ramping features.

Sofa Jams Thanks :) it’s a really cool pedal. I’d say the mod mode at about 12 sounds awesome. I’m a big fan of the trem verb settings. The plate algorithm is beautiful. There’s still a lot of experimenting to do but I love stacking the reverbs. It’s also really fun to slightly ramp the pre delay to get a little extra modulation. What about you?
@SofaJams5 жыл бұрын
@@aBunchOfPedals good choices! I think I need way more time to discover all the hidden features and sounds, but so far I really dig the Trem-Verb and the heavy modulated sounds when playing with the Minilogue. It's kinda instand horror movie feeling.

This sounds like CBs version of OBNEs Dark Star. Datk World, Dark Star, coincidence? Maybe. They would both sound awesome together. Now the bigger question. Knowing how pricy CB tend to be, why should I get this over an Empress Reverb?
@onetransmission5 жыл бұрын
Luis Barrera - The “Dark World” name was inspired by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (watch CB’s official mini documentary for the backstory). A totally different beast from the Empress - their reverb isn’t a dual reverb and doesn’t have the crazy dip switch controls CB is known for.

They're gonna have to think about changing their motto, now that their pedals will have a "digital heart" as well.
@aBunchOfPedals5 жыл бұрын
We all knew it wouldn't last forever. Still pretty exciting though.
@RobFlaxMusic5 жыл бұрын
@@aBunchOfPedals I feel like the phrase survives the digital reverb pedal... The algorithms chosen are for a player with discerning ear and a preference toward analog signal path whenever possible. In that sense, the "heart" is still there (just not literally the signal path).
@jonaseggen22305 жыл бұрын
Lovely pedal as one would expect from CBA, but is it not a bit strange that it has no stereo? I mean with these dual options, that would make sense, right? Btw the name and that logo would suit an evil company in a dystopian film, just saying.

I have a similar thing with EQD Transmisser. I keep it earlier in the chain and later add the stereo FX. With something this deep and no doubt costly, it also strikes me as a bit of an opportunity lost. I really like what you did with the drums here...normally I go ape when I see yet another entire VST or Hardware sampler demo entirely devoted to drum loops or sounds. Seriously annoying. When you wake up and check your subscriptions and the 7 latest videos posted are demos of the same pedal, it is very obvious that these are sponsored, however the only 2 out of these 7 that are up front with this fact are you and Livingroom Gear Demos. Now, when it's such an obvious PR campaign going on and not actual good reputation built on the merits of the product itself I'm already not interested. But at least you get one small badge of honesty (=not a thumbs down) for telling us.
@aBunchOfPedals5 жыл бұрын
Tung Tobak Yea, I went back and forth on that a while ago and after talking to another demo person... I decided it was the right thing to do. On the other hand, with all these videos coming out on release date, it’s pretty obvious they’re sponsored. Either way, I’m grateful for the opportunity. Thanks for checking it out :)
@tungtobak5 жыл бұрын
It is obvious _now_ on release day when no other videos of it exists - but in a few months or years when people are looking for demos of this and randomly find the sponsored videos _not_ stating they are sponsored it's not gonna give them a honest picture of the product in question but one built upon hype. So transparency I find is the way to go, people will remember this and trust your opinions in videos not sponsored. Thanks.
@aBunchOfPedals5 жыл бұрын
Tung Tobak I partly agree with you there. Definitely a good point about this being release day compared to later down the road. I don’t agree with the hype or not being an honest representation. I don’t use super expensive gear and my videos aren’t meant to be reviews. I try to keep a lot of personal opinion out of them (unless it’s like a favorite setting or something). People can make up their own minds, they don’t need me telling them how wonderful everything is. Also, I only do videos on pedals I like, not just anything that comes my way. Hope that clears it up for ya. Thanks for checking out the vid and also the conversation. lol sometimes it’s hard to disagree and be polite at the same time so you’re a champ!
