It's because the rock sound isn't that popular with the typical kpop audience, so they don't sell that many singles. However, their albums sell well - last 3 EPs each sold over 100k. But they aren't the only ones - think about Loona, who has never had a top 70 single on Gaon - but their albums also sell great. It could be worse - think about Kard, who gets NO love even though they are super talented, because Koreans don't support co-ed groups (outside of AKMU).

A group either brings money by bringing in viewers = popular or gives money = slides the envelope to start the ball rolling, mostly new groups. I would love if they would get awards, but prestigious ones, from real experts, or for their amazing achievements not the ones that depend on how many people watched advertisements on an app while their data is being mined.

You put it in words something I was thinking a long time ago. I understand why Insomnias want a 1st win so desperately, but the girls don't really need it. Korean entertainment system is corrupt and will never change, and fans doesn't care because their priority is their idol, not music or fair treatment. So many groups get a first win then dissappear of existence. DREAMCATCHER DOESN'T NEED A FIRST WIN TO SURVIVE, they have US, and that has proven to be enough for them and their company all this years. I hate those apps, hope some day they don't need to go to korean music shows and just tour and be where they are really love and appreciated. And sorry if there's misspelling I don't speak English 😅
