It's because the rock sound isn't that popular with the typical kpop audience, so they don't sell that many singles. However, their albums sell well - last 3 EPs each sold over 100k. But they aren't the only ones - think about Loona, who has never had a top 70 single on Gaon - but their albums also sell great. It could be worse - think about Kard, who gets NO love even though they are super talented, because Koreans don't support co-ed groups (outside of AKMU).

Before Dreamcatcher, I knew so many groups. At that time the group I liked most changed every year. 2019 KZbin suggested to me "You and I" by Dreamcatcher. Since then Dreamcatcher is always the group I like most. And this will also not change in the future. 80% in my playlist is Dreamcatcher.

I didn't think much of Dreamcatcher before, but their recent 1st and 2nd wins made me curious about them. I once watched one of their MVs and I didn't like the song and the heavy rock sound, so I forgot about them. But watching an MV and watching them perform is very different. They're actually some of the best performers I've seen in Kpop, but I just realized it now. Now I kinda regret discarding their whole discography over one song I didn't like. I learned my lesson, which is don't judge a group based on the first song I listen to. I'm glad they got their wins. Even though I didn't stan them I was aware that it was long overdue.
