Not really a fan of Doublelift but you gotta admire his dedication. Some just give up and will say excuses but deep inside they'll just be saying "well korea is gonna win anyway might as well just stream". Doublelift and especially Bjergsen's dedication to the pro scene deserves respect. Nonetheless, even though it's a far fetched dream, it'd be nice for an NA team to beat the current World Champs.

It does. By a lot. Qtpie the highest paid NA streamer makes about 2 mill a year. Reportedly 100k a month just by streaming and the rest by sponsorships outside streaming. Dlift would have made similar money if he kept working on streaming. But definitely made more there than by playing. Only way to make more playing is to win every tourney MSI, worlds, etc + having a stream on top of your pro responsibilities and pleasing enough sponsors. Obviously NA doesn't win worlds (yet) so only Faker makes more playing than he might just streaming. (He also makes a ton streaming)

I keep coming back to this video when I feel unmotivated. The fact that Doublelift just refused to his comfy and normal life just to pursue his dream of winning worlds amazes me. He's a huge reference even for me, a normal Spanish guy that have never been able to achieve something big. Great Video. People like you, Doublelift, give old-school players something to hold on to in professional play. The agony of defeat that you carried for some years as well as the "winning-team-join" to TSM made you a player of huge controversy. Whatever side you would find yourself on: Everyone knows Doublelift and you carry a certain fascination. For me personally, your greatest achievement was the LCS victory with CLG vs. TSM. I'd call it "final retribution". I hope you find a way to achieve your goals - for yourself and the western LoL-Pro-Play-Scene - but unfortunately I doubt it happens. Anyway, keep it up!
