Ironically, last night I was playing rank series splat zones and the stages were Mahi-Mahi Resort and Manta Maria. I have gotten Mahi-Mahi of all things 10 times in a row, holy crap that was NOT fun

@@maplemiles3381 Yeah, but E-liters can still snipe from across the map with very minimal cover for other weapons to use. Which is a problem that should have been fixed in the map changes.

Yeah, the strategies you're suggesting can work, but they really fall off when you start facing against players that can recognize very predictable plays like the ones you're suggesting. "It's not the map it's the players" No, the players can't magically just make actual flank routes appear or add more cover to mid then just a thin pole or tiny block. They can just rush at the enemy team if they do it right, but that is not at all ideal. "You just have to be quick" There's not much speed does for you when there's an E-liter that can just wait for you to stop hiding behind that thin pole in mid.

@@maplemiles3381 I'm criticizing the game because I really enjoy playing it and want it to be the best it can be, not because I think it's bad. Just because I'm not a stan of the game that thinks it has zero problems doesn't mean I'm not a fan of it. And that flank route is one of the better ones in this game, yes. I will definitely admit that. But I want a decent chance going into mid too, I don't want my only options to be this one flank route that the enemies will predict if I use it too much and a space where a charger can snipe me for pretty much zero risk when I'm in almost any place in mid. And I do understand that chargers are supposed to play safe, but the way the maps are designed right now just lets them play too safe. It's mainly just an aim drill for them right now, it requires little proper positioning or awareness of threats.

@@maplemiles3381 Not even into S yet? That explains it, A rank is where most strategies start to fall off. And I'm not extremely high either, I only got into S+ just before the last season ended. I'm going off of what players who do actually play at top level say about the game instead of saying "well this strategy works for people in A+ so it must work in 2600+ X Power lobbies too" And I never once said you suck at the game. I never once said I play Splatoon all the time. I never once said I'm a rage gamer. I never once said I play LoL. So stop putting words in my mouth and making me out to be someone who thinks they're better than everyone else. Because I'm not better than everyone else, I know there are plenty of people who *are* better than me. But I'm actually listening to what those people have to say, and repeating it. Hell, even someone as good as Gem from does Squid School (which is a fantastic resource, you should check it out if you haven't already) knows that there are people better than him. And he, too, listens to people who understand the game at top level better than him. And he, too, spreads that information around.

Yo I was the bamboo, I’m running double autobomb + sub power + object shredder for a very specific reason - crab. Two autos + a tiny bit more damage shreds crab, and sub power helps me do it more safely and consistently. It’s a meme build to some degree, but gotta adapt to the crab spam meta

The other reason is because bamboo is a pretty gear-independent weapon, so I’m free to run whatever I want pretty much. I normally have run speed and ninja squid

The maps in 3 are either rehashed from 2, butchered maps from 1 or generic maps where you are tunnelled to the middle. Splatoon 1 had the best maps.
