Guys. This is very encouraging and kind 🥹💜somehow stumbled onto your page! I was self-taught but started getting lessons after I started touring with United for a few years, to have longevity. Love how you are championing people to best utilise their god-given gifts; with excellence and insight. The voice is an instrument and what an honour getting to learn to wield it as best we can to the glory of the one who gave it to us 🤗🙌🏻 keep up your good work guys!! TAYA X

Taya is an amazing human being, she shaved her hair and donated it to a friend with cancer, I’m an Atheist but i can still get into this style of music… respect everyone

Really, is that what happened to her hair? 🥰🥰
@tiffinyanderson4403

I read it was due to damage from bleaching. She’s directly quoted as saying it. It doesn’t take away from her beauty and talent. Donated hair is almost always natural. No bleach, color etc.

Taya's range is perfect for her audience to sing with her. I wonder how much this is considered by worship teams...
@chiaseeds12
@chiaseeds12 Жыл бұрын
sometimes this components forgotten by the worship teams everywhere. they want to make a song sounds perfect, high pitch or musics here and there to show off their techniques and it's just become a huge turn off for the audience
@sarahlawrence599
@sarahlawrence599 Жыл бұрын
@@chiaseeds12 not all worship songs are intended to be congregational. there is a process that worship leaders of local churches use to determine whether or not a worship or christian song would be fitting for a congregation. is it too wordy lyrically? how long is it? is it too short? is it too vocally dramatic? etc

You guys should definitely react to Brooke Ligertwood (another amazing hillsong singer) singing what a beautiful name, or honey in the rock live at passion 2022 which I would recommend. Edit: and another Taya song I'd recommend would be Crowder- Crushing Snakes (ft Taya) live at passion 2020. She appears at the end and her vocals are VERY powerful/rock-ish.

Am so glad I came across this video 👏 It's so common for worship singers to focus on the "Spiritual" aspect and not so much on the "physical" and I have always been of the assumption like you put it to work on both our voices are the tools God uses to deliver His purpose to people, so once again God bless you for that info you just laid out.

i’ve been in love with taya’s voce since i was 13, i guess i have always loved big voices. what always flabbergasted me was her obvious technique that even untaught in music people like me can notice but we don’t know WHAT shes doing that is so great.l, but that are so mesmerizing! that combined with just the way she freely uses her voice to communicate emotion whenever she wants ❤ and yes, oceans IS DIFFICULT to sing!!!! I LOVED THIS REACTION!!! I kinda NEED you to react to her singing O Holy Night cause that performance was RIDICULOUSLY incredible!

The function and structure of Music in worship service gatherings has changed over the millennia. Speaking extemporaneously , I believe that in older times singing was more specialized. You had Levites, singing girls (probably with obvious skill) during the Exodus and Israel’s time. In the centuries after Christ’s resurrection, orthodox Churches utilized music written and performed during specific parts of structured Masses or Services by choirmaster and choir. I believe it also became more congregational after the Reformation in Europe and the State, and more recently the band structure from the modern culture became the model, with having a lead singer (worship leader) maybe with backing vocals, seemed to reduce the opportunity / need for the congregation to sing together. Singing together is important to the feeling of unity in expression of the words. Stopping the lead singing to allow the congregation to sing and hear themselves singing together is very important, whether singing a on ancient hymn or a more recent worship song.

i think what all of these "voice teachers" that react to a song like this are hearing the thing they can't teach or learn... when you look at a performance as a mechanical task to be learned and then taught, you are missing the thing that makes performances like this great... this performance comes from skill yes, but more from the soul, emotion, god's inspiration. Something you can't just train and copy for, it's the difference between people who can sing and singers

So interesting how both in the video have fast vibratos and talking about her clarity. It's because she doesn't over use her vibrato to create color. She has color without it. It also helps you focus on the lyrics. The music lowers in each verse to exemplify the words to manifest a space of praise. Just a discussion. I believe she's going in and out of head and chest voice because it's part of compatibly matching the hards and softs of the musical endeavors. Using her head voice clarity also makes it siren-like for the illusion of being in the water. She also doesn't use her vibrato as much to hold notes which is beautiful. Vibrato usually disguises notes if you hit them or not. Some of these things are choices because it's emotively expressing frustration or uncertainty with n's and M's. To sing correctly is one thing. But emote those words with technique style (she's utilizing more rock contemporary influences.) She's not only professing words she's living in them. Which makes it so much more powerful. She's reliving whatever she's using to get through this song. This is a true artist.

Hi. Thanks for sharing. I’ve got a question please. When she sings ‘wherever you would call me, take me deeper than my feet could ever wonder’ between 24:40 and 24:48, did she go from head voice to a belt or mix? I’m thinking the start from 24:40 is a full and strong head voice but I might be wrong.. what do you think? Thanks
