What I love about them is, that they bring back classic rock without sounding oldfashioned. It's straight, honest rock music.

Tobias Forge is a consummate showman, and wants nothing more than hove his audience singing and dancing along. Everything is simple for a reason, you won't find a single Ghost tune that doesn't have something begging for singing or shouting along to. The guitar solos are intentionally melodic and simple. When recording the "Impera" album, he brought Fredrick Åkesson of Opeth to play the guitar leads, and they asked to "dumb it down". Fredrick did fantastically, and said he would enjoy doing it again, because Tobias knows exactly what he wants. My favorite Ghost tune is "Faith". One of the most vicious ways to say "Faith is mine" ever.

Ahhh! I was looking foward to another Ghost video from you! It's such a joy to watch people discover Ghost bit by bit :)))) I'm glad you're converted! Square Hammer was one of the first songs I heard from them, so it has a special place in my heart. Sometimes, it's impossible not to feel like you were born in the wrong generation, musically speaking, but Ghost is there to ease that ache in our hearts... If I may recommend other songs from them... You should listen to Monstrance Clock, From the Pinnacle to the Pit, Kaisarion and Spillways! They're other favorites of mine!

It fits pretty much in any slot during the show. :D I saw them twice on their tour last year...if you get a chance to attend the next tour, definitely go....one of the best shows I've ever seen. I also saw their recent concert movie Rite Here Rite Now 4 times in the theater. XD

This song was my introduction to Ghost at the insistence on my brother. And yeah, I was hooked the moment I heard that solo. Ghost just allows you to have fun with metal. Their sound has totally evolved with the lore of the band and I cannot help but smile every time I hear them. Their older stuff is a little more doom metal but still has that 60/70s feel. Their newer stuff is very much inspired by 80s metal. Again. Just so much fun! Great video! HADGD!
@iansimmons7354 ай бұрын
Ghost is (IMO, obviously!) the best thing to happen to Rock (not Metal, but Rock, even though there's a lot of old-school metal in there) for many, many years. Not so much a band as one man's crazy project. The recent film 'Rite Here Rite Now', whose title is adapted from a lyric in this song, is simply stunning, and it's 90% concert footage from two concerts they did last year. It's just left theatres, so you'll have to wait for it to become available on streaming or Blu-Ray etc. The double live album soundtrack from it is due out this month. Incidentally, you are bang on about the solos. Tobias Forge crafts the solos for his songs (he is originally a guitarist, not just the singer and songwriter), they are never shred-fests, even if some of them are very difficult to play - no, they serve a purpose in enhancing the song.

Please, PLEASE do more Ghost, every album is so different from each other, they even have a "60s album". Amazing band, one of my favorites and one of thos important band in my heart. Also, live version of the songs since 2019 have live backing vocals and all that good stuff, they're 100% better than the studio versions. If I can recommend some songs, go for "Watcher in the Sky", "Respite on the Spitafields", "Twenties", "Year Zero", "Stand by Him", "Zenith", "Per Aspera ad Inferi", "From the Pinnacle to the pit", and pretty much any song from Infestisummam Oh, Ghouls are the musicians in the band, they all have nicknames, but ultimatelly they are all just 'Ghouls' or 'Ghoulette' for the females. And some people call the fans 'Ghesties' (usually the newer fans) but there's a lot (lot) of people that really dislike the word Ghestie. Oh and the band has lore, they even had a movie that came out last week, and it was amazing!
@thing_under_the_stairs4 ай бұрын
Older fans used to call themselves "Ghouls" too, or sometimes "Clergy" then the TikTok kids came up with "Ghesties". Since I've been into this weird band for a long time now, I kind of loathe the term "Ghestie", but these kids are young enough to be my offspring, so they can use whatever terms they want, I suppose.
@Ezekku4 ай бұрын
@@thing_under_the_stairs yeah I don't mind as long as I don't *have* to use the term 'Ghestie' lol Clergy sound the most appropriate. It got even worse when they started calling the movie 'the Ghovie', like stop it
@thing_under_the_stairs4 ай бұрын
@@Ezekku Certain pals and I used to joke about being Members of the Clergy when we were drunk and jamming, but that was kind of the point - we're more than old enough to drink, and we were thinking about starting a Ghost tribute band. We weren't thirsting over musicians twice our age on social media. That just creeps me out.

There was just a limited theatrical release of a concert film and it was fantastic. It’s a live show they did at the end of the last US tour with storyline elements sprinkled in of the bands story and the fate of the lead singer. When it comes out on dvd or streaming i think it would be fun if you did a live stream reaction of it.

Great video. But duuude you kiss mention got me in the feels!! I'm sure the metal elitist of today would scoff at the idea that kiss was the band that got me into rock, where I eventually found my way into the heavier metal scene. I remember the first time I heard it was when was a wee lad, I hopped into the car my dad and uncle were jamming to 100,000 years live from was it kiss alive 2 or 1??? I'm not 100% on this, but I think Brian May said that. He's always written gorgeously melodic solos that sing almost as well as his pal Freddy did, with enough technicality to let you know that he knows his stuff, but never a wank-fest. I'll bet you can sing the solos from Bohemian Rhapsody right here, right now if you try...
