lovely looking thing - warning to DIY'rs roof pitch is the wrong way so in theory heat gets trapped in the triangle instead of heading for the bather. also feet above the stones etc.

Thank you, Chase! I'm learning a lot from your Sauna videos. I'm building a Sauna similar to yours just a little bigger(12' by 8'). Right now I'm building a roof and a friend a professional constructor told me that I need to install roof ventilation(soffit). Do you have any ventilation on your roof?

Dimmer switch would be an easy fix for the interior light. Good video
@ChaseChristopher13 ай бұрын
@@roushrtr4816 that would be a good call. Do they sell waterproof outdoor dimmer switches?

Thanks for sharing this info. It seems most people end up spending around $10,000 to build a decent sauna.

My research suggests cedar is not the best option for the interior of a sauna. Did you research this or just assume it is suitable as is widely held in North America?
@ChaseChristopher119 күн бұрын
@@trevorlow3252 I did research and found widely varying opinions. I personally love the look and smell of cedar so that is what I chose. Lots of options out there though!

Yes it is a beautiful product. Hoping to keep the costs down is the reason for the question. Thanks for the reply. Great build, congrats.
I wouldn’t recommend having the sauna heater on the high side of the sauna as the hot air and löyly can get trapped and not flow properly.

Love the info! What you say about the light is so key. Nobody wants to see a naked light in the sauna! Cover it up. If you need a budget friendly option, tent saunas like the ones from north shore sauna are great.

Hey, Chase. Thank you for posting the video. I bought a set of plans for the sauna. What about the floor? It looks like it is a deck of wood boards that extends outside into the dressing area. Is this right? What kind of wood? Cedar? 2 x 4s? Is there a drain in the floor for sweat and moisture? Thank you for the clarifications . . . Keep up the good work

That stove/heater is what I've been looking at. What is the temperature you can get your sauna up to? I'm looking to get at least 185 - 200 degrees f.

Your build is really nice but have you considered just buying one? I just shopped around a bit and found that just over half of those 10K gets me one…?
