In order for an officer to catch up to a vehicle doing 130, they'd have to do much more than 130. So, doing 150+ really gets out there. As long as they are alone and gain distance quickly, anyone can evade. The trick is to hurry up and lose them. The longer you're being chased, the more likely you'll get stopped. But if you're going to run, make sure you don't have your real plate on.
@frankjohnson6342 Жыл бұрын
If the cop is on the side of the road running radar and someone goes by at 130 mph then the cop would beat least a mile behind by the time he got to 130mph never mind getting up to 150mph. Unless they’re on a straight road with no exits I don’t see him catching that car. If the cop is coming is driving towards the car doing 130 then his chances of seeing the car again drops even more by a lot. Putting fake plates on your only adds to your trouble even if you’re not speeding as the plate readers in the cop car will go off as some as sone as you drive by and you will get towed
@frankblacks.45 Жыл бұрын
Excellent advice, okhotrodder. Please allow me to add to that with an old physics adage, "You can only go as fast as you can stop". Meaning, if you're going faster than you can stop yourself then, something else will stop you, like another car, a ditch, tree or wall, whatever. Point being, proper braking is essential to maintaining control then, as you smartly said, you can lose them. Getting out of their "vision range" is the goal and then you go for cover. Not that I'm condoning or suggesting such wreckless & ILLEGAL behavior, no sir... :) The best drivers are the CONSIDERATE drivers: NEVER CUTTING OFF other cars - UNDERSTANDING "RIGHT OF WAY", ALWAYS USING TURN SIGNALS so all other drivers can anticipate your intention to slow/brake for turns & NEVER TAILGATING OTHER DRIVERS, you never know when the driver in front of you may need to suddenly stop for pedestrians/animals/debris/whatever. These are the infractions I would pull over drivers for if I were a cawp. AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS GOOD AND HOLY, STOP HOGGING UP THE "PASSING LANES" ON THE INTERSTATE!!! The PASSING LANE is for getting around slower vehicles, tractor trailers/buses/senior citizens/Illegal Mexicans/etc. then moving back into the right-hand lane so faster traffic can move around you when necessary. If people actually understood this simple rule-of-the-road there would be no wrecks & traffic jams would practically disappear. Jerks that purposefully plant their Prius/Leaf/hybrid shit-boxes in the PASSING LANE should be arrested and put in jail for 3+ yrs or executed. :) That's my "Public Service" announcement for the thread here. Not you personally, okhotrodder. You know your stuff.

@frankblacks.45 Жыл бұрын
@@HellcatM6 I completely understand where you are coming from, HellcatM6. My dad would always say the same thing, "You can't outrun that radio, Boy"! I grew up in the 70s & 80s in Hillbilly/Moonshine-runnin' East Tennessee & back then running from cops was NOT an automatic Felony and the cops had much more respect for Freedom, the Constitution & citizens overall rights. They respected "the game", for lack of a better term, meaning that if you ran from them & got away on say Friday night then, they would NOT be banging on your door on Saturday. This respect for "the game" & citizens came with caveats certainly. As long as you weren't a violent, doped-up, jobless repeat-offender type then, the Law would accept that you got away "earning" your freedom for the moment or time being. I know it sounds odd or impossible to believe but, that was true and at one time this country really was the Land of Liberty...more or less, it could be argued either way. And as far as the "radio" goes, there has to be other police units in the vicinity to take the call & be ready to intercept the "rabbit" that's running. Depending on the area & the available units it's still very possible to successfully run from the Law. Not that I'm endorsing such behavior...just sayin'. :)

As a retired officer I was privileged enough to drive many models of police cars. From Fords to Chevy and Dodge. The last being the 5.7 Charger. But when I first started the Dept had an old Polara that was still in use. It's was by far my favorite car. It was big and fast and handled. And that was with old school tech of a 440 4 barrel and a three speed trans and would knock down 150mph. No fuel injection, no supercharger, no 8 or 10 speed transmission. Big as a boat and built like a tank and handled great even by today's standards. Today running from Law enforcement unless you stole it is just dumb.Stealing it is even dumber. With all the tech and cameras most likely they have your tag. So they really don't have to continue a pursuit. They just obtain warrants from the registration for the registered owner. Wich in most states will be a felony charge. So they just show up a few days later and arrest the owner. If he wasn't driving I promise you he will throw who evers ass was driving under the bus. Then their going to impound that nice ride. Lol, seriously expensive trip. Let's don't even mention the high chance of it causing an injury or fatality. After the court system finishes with you, some lawyer is going to rape your insurance company then take everything you have or ever will have. As an old hot rodder myself, no matter how you look at it, speeds a matter of money, just how fast do you want to go?

@@alexhernandez-to5ls You make some valid points. But the major one you are leaving out is ownership. If your vehicle is involved in a crime the owner will receive one of two things. A citation or an arrest according to the charge. The way most states codes annotated are written it's your baby. If you weren't driving prove it. And then that is accompanied by if you weren't driving it, it sure wasn't driving itself. And the last thing is if it's your property, unless stolen, it your responsibility. Of course the owner may be perfectly innocent. Loaned their car to a relative or friend. Maybe the restaurant valet took it for a spin.Maybe it was stolen. If so why didn't you report it? Most innocent people are not going to jail for someone else. They are going to rat them out. If you have ever been to a trial you would realize that a judge and jury are not going to buy it. Your attorney want get by on you don't have a picture of my client driving. Your car, your property, your keys. You didn't have it, who did? Your the owner. The second most expensive purchase most people make in life and you don't know where it was or who had it if you didn't? And if you can't place someone else with it at the time get ready to eat a fine or jail time. It is woefully inaccurate to think that by simply saying the owner was not the driver that it ends there. And you don't need a CSI team to figure that out. Any good defense attorney is going to ask their client these same questions before a trial ever takes place. The attorney knows where his car and keys are at or who has access. So does the judge, the jury and the prosecutor. Even the peanut gallery just observing from the cheat seats know where there stuff is. But you don't?

yah the mustang driver doesn't really know what the hell he's doing. If you can't drive - find a HWY & let the car do the work

I'm mustang guy( Foxbody in particular)and yet i found the mustang video funny. He had his driving gloves on😆. Although at first i thought they were the rubber COVID gloves. Yeah there's alot of coyote and 392 hate on the fast 5.7 crowd.

I really enjoy mustangs & think they're great rides. Some of the owners though really like to bust the chops of the 5.7L guys. At least that is what I noticed on my videos

@@RTLife yeah there's a lot of big mouth, cocky Coyote, as well as 392 drivers out there.😆

The coyote dudes love to pick on the 5.7 and 392s. Because they are na and heavier. Always like well sealed motor this and 10 speed that 🤣. Yet stang modes on his 3rd broken shelby motor 🤣, ford released the 🌈 raptor, raptor r gets owned by the trx at the strip and off road plus breaks. Yet Richard holdner has a junk yard 5.7 ram hemi block doing glory runs over 1200 hp, I want to say he got 1500 but it’s been a while. Did it on his dyno with filing some rings for gap and adding some arp studs on some boost. And the older drag pak was a 345 making over 700 hp na but they forgot about that. For a coyote to do that they need sleeves OPGs which isn’t a sealed motor 🤣. And the 10 speed is junk at 900 hp without being built. Don’t get me wrong I like the coyote to but everything has a draw back and to say it’s the best thing around is ignorant.

@@joshreynolds729 well a transmission that hold 900 HP is impressive regardless of make. Most car enthusiast won't come close to seeing 900 HP. Calling any trans regardless of make that holds close to 900 HP a piece of junk is stupid.

I am a mechanic and worked at a shop in Missouri where there was a State Patrol car that was looked at for complaint with officer , nothing was found to be wrong with the car and have back to the officer , who inturn returned two weeks later with the same complaint , another mechanic took the officer out for a ride to see about complaint , officer drove the cae to 147 mph when the limits of the car were reached , he was not satisfied with that he wanted more , informed him that there would have to be a reprogrammed computer out in the car to go faster , other states I have no idea but Missouri at that time could only go to 147 , which was in the late ninties , county only did 113 mph , worked on several police vehicles for Missouri only 🙈

I love your videos, but I gotta call out the bs about RTs vs 5.0, my FBO 3.7 mustang walks RTs and it’s barely able to keep up with 10 speed 5.0s, so the statement about RTs even being close to 5.0s is just not true. Keep up the great work though love the content.
@RTLife Жыл бұрын
The 10 speed 5.0L is def a beast & really a direct competitor with the 392 8 speed. That said, I'll still say it's a drivers race if both 5.7L 8 speed & 5.0L GT 6 speed are on tires red light racing.
@drew3618 Жыл бұрын
Well at that point you’re comparing a manual vs a auto unless you mean the 2015-2017 auto GT with the 6r80 ? I’ve owned both, the gt performs way better on the higher rpm’s while the RT has a lot of grunt down low. That being said, stock for stock my RT would stay with a mustang from a dig till about 40ish mph after that the mustang just pulls away. From a roll well I stood no chance at all Lmao. Love both cars but the charger rt is probably my favorite due to it being a better daily imo.

THIS is a perfect example of why there should be a new law created. Unless someone has committed a VIOLENT/HIDEOUS crime, if an officer can not catch a suspect within 60 seconds while traveling OVER 100 MPH then the pursuit needs to TERMINATED! Nobody GAF if he didn't pay his tags, THAT is no excuse for the officer to take the law into his own hands because he's a prideful to put EVERYONE other working citizens lives at risk including women and more importantly CHILDREN! Lets say you caught him for what evading? And unpaid registration would THAT all be worth it if in the process you killed a women and her kids? And all over a traffic violation? WE the American people need to get make this GONE IN 60 SECONDS law a real law! This BS gotta STOP!!
