I get the point, but zero updates on Vantage V? I've had both a Polar Vantage M2 and a Polar Grit X Pro and both of them have had updates throughout the years. On the other hand, as I wish Polar had more active development, I hope they are working on something big to catch up with what Coros and Suunto are doing.

I've had my Coros for almost 3 years now and I still love it. It JUST WORKS, it does everything I need, and it does it extremely well. Thrilled to hear about the added Stryd metrics in the new firmware, I've been waiting for that for months now. I don't really need navigation much, but when I do, I appreciate having turn-by-turn navigation, so I'm glad that's in the new update as well. Can't wait for it to drop in my region. BTW, the model I have is still the original Vertix. I'd upgrade, but the Vertix 2 is literally wider than my wrist, so I can't imagine it'd be a comfortable ride. I very much hope that when the Vertix 3 comes out they'll either go back to the diameter of the Vertix 1 (which is JUST about doable for small-wristed people) or offer it in two different sizes.

It's interesting how everyone uses the watch differently, for me living in the middle of a dense city, I always start my runs randomly, just with a general goal (hills or flat) in mind. Based on red lights, I'll turn differently and sometimes decide new directions mid-way. I don't see how I would use directions for that kind of run, especially as most of the trails I run are not on Google Maps. But it's impressive how Garmin and Coros keep on adding great features for everyone to enjoy. The only directions I use sometimes are "return to base" which is awesome! Thanks for the update!

2:45 not a fan of Coros but that's IMO a bit of a drama. If it shows the arrow once, probably there's one fixed distance, where the watch indicates the turn... like always 100m before, or 50m before. If there are more than one turn indications (500m before and then 50m before)... yes - then the distance label would be helpful. It would be nice if reviewer knew that and let us know ;)

Coros are simply great. Their HR sensors are not great, which has let the whole training ecosystem down in the past - unless you had a strap of course. The new hr Monitor, which looks to be alright, and their persistent updates of features mean this is a fantastic, future proof system to buy into where you can. Oh, and it's easy to use unlike some other brands..... Haha

Hello, Great review! I recently bought a Coros watch and was wondering if using Plot-A-Route is the only way to produce a route with turn-by-turn that works with Coros? Or can you use the Coros mobile app for that as well? After a few navigations on my Apex 2 Pro I have yet to see the TBT function in action, so I'm not sure what I need to do to enable that.

Cant wait to try the new HRV setup. But the problem was the watch did not detect the sleep well. Compare with my way cheap huawei band 4 where it perform great in term of detect when i sleep even can detect when i take a nap. And need to put a time when you sleep kind of suck for a person who are working on shift (sometime i sleep at night sometimes in day). The other issue i face with my apex 2 is the altitude meter. Its keep on giving a different reading even though i was in same position home and working place.. 🥴🥴🥴 Hope coros can solve this problem..

@512dude 7 ай бұрын
Let's be honest about the turn-by-turn (TBT) navigation. This feature is only partially implemented. A nice aspect of this feature is that you can be moving along a trail with the screen showing running metrics, when you approach an intersection, the watch can produce an audible alert, vibrate, and the screen automatically displays the map and a turn indicator for 4-5 seconds. This results in quick and easy navigation ... when it works. Unfortunately. when building and saving a course, the system automatically drops indicators on the course map representing turn alerts. The problem is that the system randomly places some where there are no trail intersections, places incorrect turn indicators, or just plain ignores others leaving you wondering which way to go. This requires stopping on the run and flipping back to the map screen to determine the correct direction. Almost there COROS but a little bit of sloppiness in the implementation. Don't expect perfection with this feature and so far no way to manually add or edit turn indicators although I did ask for that as a feature enhancement.

So it looks like COROS do the right way, to sell a watch under 200€ with Turn By Turn. Fitbit say it with Google maps, but it workss... not very well. Sent it back, yesterday. Great watch! But!!!! My apex 2 counts steps while I go to work on bike. So I end up on 15.000 steps per day. Nobody talks about this!!!! I can’t find any information online. It’s frustrating. Can you help me?

Still got my old FR935 but the more I read about the Coros Apex 2 Pro I’m tempted rather than the 965. One issue I have is that the screens in all the reviews look quite dim. Did you find it lacking in brightness when using it outside? I know it can’t compete with the amoled screens.
@tommanseau6277
@tommanseau6277 Жыл бұрын
I can't speak to Coros specifically, but I had a Garmin with the "transreflective" display. The best thing about those is they work better the brighter it is. These types of displays are more about filtering light rather than emitting it. The downside is that they simply aren't as contrasty or have vivid colors. But they are great on battery life.

I have a lot of history with Garmin so I tend to wear them regularly. I do use lots of devices though, Apple, COROS, Garmin, Suunto, Polar, etc... for the purpose of testing.

I find Coros’ lack of automatic resting HR measurement inexplicable. The only way as of the 2023 spring update is to measure it manually every single day upon waking up, which is ridiculous.

Great selection of watches but I couldn't get over the 10 to 15 second delay in Pace when I had my Vertix 2. Sooo frustrating. The dim backlight was also a challenge (however I've since bought an Instinct 2 which isn't any better!)
