This race demonstrates the truth about the old saying: when you go straight is the machine, during curves is the pilot. Cool!

Awesome video showing that baggers can do it to. I have a 2013 street glide that im building into a performance bagger while still keeping comfort for touring. Installed an upgraded filter and 2 into 1 exhaust, tuned and Raised the rear an inch a half and it handles absolutely amazing. It shreds canyons and i can lean it quite a bit without scraping anything. So many misconceptions about harleys out there, you wont know until ride one.

Great video love it I drive a Harley Street glide and this guy I know if he was riding one would be scraping the freaking hell out of the floorboards I do it every now and then and it is an awesome feeling I'd love to get mine on a track to practice cornering but amazing video he's ripping it hard time

I think that was also part of his skill set--to go so fast without dragging parts all of the time.

I followed a husband and wife on individual baggers through Deal's Gap aka Tail of the Dragon... They were dragging the floorboards on every decent curve we had, and never crossed the center line. Mad respect to them.

Yes, I caught up to him, tried to find when to pass, he let me thrue in the end. Beginner group mate (2017) I've learnt a thing or two since then. Watch my others videos, there getting better 😎

if that was the beginner group what were the bagger rides in the advanced group like !!
@OliverKrysell3 жыл бұрын
Haha. Don't think he would be able to keep the pace with the bike as it was. They rider switched to a S1000R the next year. But have you seen when they race with baggers? Those guys aren't joking around. Heavenly modified bikes there tho. ☺️

1. Didn't have the skill back then. 2. It's all about having fun, which I had. 3. I'm on a little 400cc, not much power, need to pick my lanes. 4. Harley is not the easiest to do trackday on, especially if your new. And he has more power, if he can. 5. Learning learning learning Cheers mate

Silly, no ones "chasing" anyone here. The bike lean angles don't even reach 30 degrees. I would assume this is a beginner group. I mean it kind of relative and have fun at your own pace but chasing is a bit of a stretch.

Lean angle doesn't necessarily mean speed!
@raynic11733 жыл бұрын
@@br549american5 actually unless your drifting like a flat tracker it actually does, for the most part.
@br549american53 жыл бұрын
@@raynic1173 uhhhh ,,, no. Keep your weight applied directly over and inline with where your tires meet the ground. FIND CENTER. when you lean it takes time to set up and move your weight over for a change in direction. Also riding on a track is one thing, but on the road you had better ride like there just might be a cinder block laying in the roadway around every curve or over every hill!
@raynic11733 жыл бұрын
@@br549american5 first off this is a race track and we're talking bike lean angle not body lean. A road bike at a certain lean angle is almost a direct relation to how 'aggressive' or fast or at what kind of speed that corner is taken. Of course it's all relative to the radius of the corner. 30 degrees of lean angle at 'x' radius maybe 40 mph and 30 degrees at 'z' maybe 60 mph. Also if we want to talk body position, that only takes a second or less to accomplish and is easily doable 99% of the time if one chooses too. In less than the time it would take you to say 'hey a right turn is coming up' you can be in position if so desired. Body positioning is all a matter of choice. However, more than one study has proved shifting your body position aka 'like a racer' gives you the advantage of your bike being ~ 4 degrees less of lean for the given speed and radius of the corner. A way to take advantage of that. Is that a racer can then maximize and use up that 4 degrees by going at faster pace. I will agree that highly aggressive riding on the street can catch you out and is risky. But that to can be minimised with some planning and tactics. But once again here I was commenting on the 'chase ', which is highly over stated in the title.
