I still clearly remember when we took that spur all the way up to Sumas in an old Alco 2-8-0 back in the 50's...then we got a new GP-7!

Yes they are still running. They run one day a week and alternate between Tuesday's and Thursdays. GNP still operates the line while Ballard Terminal Railroad leases their crews and equipment.

I think track maintenance would be a good idea so there wouldn't be any weeds. Why don't they keep them maintained?

Yes they are still running and they currently serve four customers on the line. But it is uncertain if they will be running for much longer. You may want to go out and get photos of it if you can. It is possible thry might be shutting before the year is out.

What has happened to have them to want to close the line. I would love to catch them, but I live in Canada. I love shortlines and would be sad if this and any shortline closes, if not for them so many lines would disappear. We should be saving lines not killing them.
