I like how you are explaining what setups and methods you're using now. It definitely helps people who might not know about it otherwise.

My wife doesn't like being cold so we don't get on the ice much but we have made hunting and fishing a family thing when it works for all parties involved and it makes memories and photos that will live for generations, love the videos, thanks from central MN!!

She has heated socks on try to make her as comfortable as possible there are ways around the cold. Thanks for watching. Good luck!

Gotta keep em warm for sure. The hut and heater are always present when we are on the ice. Happy fishing from the PNW

Great video and I really enjoy all the underwater action shots! Especially with that larger pike who was just hovering by that shiner for so long.

Those tip ups look like beaver dam ones I have them if you that a saw and cut grove in the top you can take your line out to wind tie that's what I did much easier to wind up !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya there but I don’t wrap my line in the spool I don’t like the curls.
@drdavewi11 ай бұрын
Hi Kyle, How do you store the line so that there is no curls in the leaders? I agree, the curls are a problem. I have my leaders just hanging straight down from my tipups in my garage right now with plans of spooling them just before I take them out to fish. THANKS! Dave @@Wisconsin_Fisherman

Thanks for letting some fish go. Most fishermen in Wisconsin don't. We could have great opportunity for trophy fish if people would stop eating everything they catch.

Hey Kyle! What was the “button” you used as a depth marker? I think I need some of those!
@Wisconsin_Fisherman11 ай бұрын
The ones I have are a two hole button standard issue
@drdavewi11 ай бұрын
Hi John, I like to use a small, white or bright colored button. Small so you can wrap it in the spool of the tipup. Bright colored so it is easy to see in the water. Instead of a button I also use a bead with the line looped through it twice; this way it doesn't just slide up and down the line. I use a bright bead about the size of a pencil eraser. My friend uses a tiny clip on bobber; this works well too. Good luck!

How do you keep those cheap jaw spreaders from damaging the fish? Tried them and didn't like the holes they made, so now have the type with the T-shaped end. Much better, no more punctures in their jaws.
@Wisconsin_Fisherman11 ай бұрын
Every once in a while, it’ll puncture through. I haven’t seen the T ones though.

@@Wisconsin_Fisherman I have the Cuda brand, but Tyrant, O'Pro, and others make a version as well. When I was still using the basic one, I slid short pieces of vinyl tubing over the ends. It stuck out past the sharp point and worked well.
