I spent the day exploring new water in the Smoky Mountains while chasing wild rainbows and native brookies. It was an absolutely beautiful day in the park--hard to beat!

Nice video of a beautiful little creek. If I can make a suggestion, since you practice C&R, invest in the Ketchum Release tool. They're about $20 and absolutely worth it. You don't have to handle the fish at all and it increases their chance of surviving. Since Brookies are quickly becoming an endangered soecies, it's up to us to do everything in our power to help em out. I've been fly fishing over 55 years now and I can see the decline in population. Too many poachers, too many illegal bait fishermen, and too many you tubers posting videos of vulnerable creeks and even showing landmarks that can be easily identified. (The Smokies are so over crowded anymore I haven't been there since the late 90s) Thanks for not naming locations but some other folks here tecognized the creeks too. Your channel came up in my feed so I'm gonna check it out and probably subscribe. Good job young fella...

Thanks so much for watching and for the tips. I’ ll look into that. I definitely want to do my best to be a good steward to the places I am fortunate enough to fish. Brook trout hold a special place in my heart and I want them to be around for many generations to come. Thanks again for taking time to watch-it means a lot!

Small natural rainbows, my kind of fishing. I have fished all over the smokies. Great fishing. I have find out that the higher elevation equals more browns. Great video.

Thanks for not mentioning the creek. I wished youd tell people you're in Alaska 😂. Im born and raised a smoky mountain boy. Too many people in my backyard catching my fish. 👍💪

I can totally appreciate where you’re coming from. I try to not name streams for the most part-especially wild or native streams. Those gems that are still hidden need to be protected. I feel like, as an angler, it’s so much more rewarding when you put in the work to find those hidden gems for yourself. Makes the journey so much more fun! Thanks for taking time to watch!

@@ColbertOutdoors well I can't say Ive found any of them myself. My dad or somebody else's dad has told me of every stream in the park that's worth my time. Now the dang Internet is ruining the park. I hate it. Used to be nearly nobody fishing in these streams but locals. Appreciate you keeping your location somewhat secret. Maybe people will just come and fish little river or something and go home 😂. 👍

@@mandovapehater6988 And sometimes, even if you "found" that stream, it could be someone else's favorite. Don't hotspot and ruin a stream for the next guy.
