Maybe it wasn't Paige's fault. I understand the producers being worried about the violence depicted in the first movie but whoever came up with the idea of making April just a common news reporter in the second one deserves one big mouthful from Tatsu.

The clip of April, Leo, Donnie and Mikey heading down to the shop (1:17) while Raph was ambushed by the Foot on the roof at must of been a deleted scene that never made it in the movie. I wish they hadn't left that scene out.

In filmmaking they film a lot of shots that never make it to the final cut. They just film a lot and see what works best during the editing process :)

It wasn't her decision. There was a decision made at the studio level that she wasn't the right actress for the target audience. Peter has a good comment about this in the doc.
