Amazing to hear the technology that these wineries employ. I pre-ordered CLB a while back and after this review I now can’t wait for it to arrive (even though I will have to let it sit a few years).

doublewides: so surprised it was so accessible now. I would have thought I should wait another 10 years before opening but I think it will start hitting its prime in 2-3 years. Cheers!

Just drank LB 2018 was thinking way too early but just wanted to try out as many people say it's assessable already. Surprisingly it was so drinkable at this young age. It showed great balance, richness and opulence of black fruits..quite a feminine in style imo.
@TrophyWineHunter2 жыл бұрын
@@humble550 I think that is what you will find with new LB....it is much more accessible and the wine is way more consistent that in the 1980-2000. Between 2000-2010, I feel it is a transition period and starting maybe around 2012, 2013, you start to see a change. But I would say after 2015, this wine is really producing on all cylinders. I think 2018 is the first vintage produced from their new facilities and going forward, I expect this wine's prices start to soar. Cheers!

Greetings from Thailand 🇹🇭 Great sharing as always! Been watching your channel for a long time....always useful & helpful. As mentioned in the other subscriber I tried LB 18' early this month and felt exactly what you shared...I found it very drinkable, feminine in style, good balance, beautiful richness, opulence of back fruits and subtle tannins already after decanted 30 min. Forgot to mention earlier I also found LB 18' like a twin of cos d'estournel 14' which I just drank in May. Please keep up the good work and Happy Drinking 🙂🍷

Win: thank you for your continued support. What I find amazing about modern LB is that is it so approachable so young, even in tannic vintages. This speaks to the quality of the tannins. Tannins can be bold yet subtle at the same time. I learned this by drinking the To Kalon wines. Cheers!

I have never had Lynch Bages before. This has definitely peaked my interest, but I can't seem to get it in some of vintages I would like sadly. I like the fact that the audience can vote on what you drink next - you should do that again if you want. I personally watch this channel to get tasting notes on wines so I get a sense of what I want to buy next, so when you vote you feel like you have some kind of influence on the outcome of what the next video will be. Hopes this makese sense. Have a nice summer from Denmark. :-)

M: thank you for viewing my video and taking the time to leave a comment. I am gratified by your comment as that is exactly what I trying to accomplish: I hope that when a viewer buys a wine, particularly a Trophy wine, and opens it to drink, my videos provide some background information or guidance so that you get the most out of the bottle. I, and many others, have often made the mistake of opening a really expensive bottle without knowing very much about it. That is a missed opportunity in my mind. Good video. I have a decent supply of 2015 LB in my cellar which I’ll most likely start drinking in 2025 into 2035. However, at the current pricing I’m no longer a buyer. Not when I can get second growth Grand Cru Classe wines at a third of the price. Plus there’s so many other interesting wines to try.

rjo8500: if you have some already, yes agree considering some of the Margaux region 2nd growths are cheaper and have more upside in the last few years. Cheers!

Did you try the 2018 vintage? I think it's even better than 2015 despite being younger
@TrophyWineHunter2 жыл бұрын
Kurisu: thank you for viewing my video. No, I have not although other viewers have and have the same great things to say about it. Again, I think LB is now hitting on all cylinders and their recent wines (from 2015 onwards) are accessible much younger but still have the ageability Cheers!

I have few bottles of Lynch Bages but haven’t tried … somehow they are getting more and more expensive

Sanjay: see my other comments to other subscribers. I think old Lynch, you have to buy good years as the quality is inconsistent. 2000-2015 is transition period but after 2015, I think this wine is producing on all cylinders. With their new facilities, somehow their wine is modern and accessible younger. I think you will continue to see prices soar for this wine as the general wine community is slow to pick up trends but I think this wine will rival many of the 2nd growths like Ducru over the next 10 years. Cheers!

LIN CHI because its Hong Kong nick name is 靚次伯 "Lan Chi Bak"

SH S: I am not that great at Chinese but other than sounding like Lynch Bages, is there any other significance to the nick name? Cheers!

@@TrophyWineHunter I am not an expert, but my understanding is that it is merely a coincident that the name of the wine in French sounds similar to this famous Cantonese Opera singer Lan Chi Pat and 'Lan' in Cantonese means beautiful/ pretty so making this nickname particularly attractive. To be honest, i was born in the era of canton pop rather than opera, so actually when i first head of this famous Cathy pacific 1st class/ drink success/ rich uncle's favorite wine, i didn't know it is actually because of this famous opera singer in Hong Kong that gives the wine its nickname.
