I recently read that the owners neither want to sell it to the multiple requests made but they neither want to fix it, and that they applied to have it demolished soon... Very sad, and foolish. A pice of history would be lost

As so many others have already said, it's a very sad situation when a beautiful place like this is abandoned, left to fall into such a sad state of disrepair. Wish I was a zillionaire..... I'd go around fixing up these beautiful old places, turn them into bed and breakfast type places that ANYBODY could afford to stay at. These kinds of places are MADE to be enjoyed by everyone..... Maybe a work/board exchange sort of arrangement....

It takes so much money to maintain these old classic properties, let along restore them, especially with modern building requirements that they are just abandoned & left to rot. It really requires some political will of Govt's to help preserve the counties heritage. The costs are now well beyond most individuals.

Architecture is beautiful. I would have loved to seen that back in its day before it was run down. It is sad to see when people go in there and put graffiti on walls and deface a place like that. Thanks for sharing.

Most of the crown moldings, detailed wood work and beams, marble and artwork in on the windows, walls and floors have been stolen out of there by local crook contractors and handy men and handy women! I am surprised to see what is left! All of this stuff is from the rustbelt era, and extremely valuable, beautiful and rare. You can't get it anywhere unless you buy it from the crooks that stole it from these types of places! They allow bums and crack heads to trash the place a little to make it look like vandalism after they take the goods! Some were clever enough to have reproductions made off the original before they sold them, so that they would forever have a going concern and profit for their families for generations to come!

It's so very sad that this once spectacular chateau was adandoned and left to rot. It is now gone, demolished by the Belgian government because it had become too dangerous. RIP MIRANDA
