Being kept awake at night and hounded in every waking hour by thoughts of, ‘what should we do, how are we going to tell THEM, we can’t continue like this etc. A lot of us have had those times in our lives. You are bloody heros to me. For chasing your dream and ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING WITH IT! You’ve got ‘the right stuff’ and you’ve got each other. This isn’t a pep talk guys, I’m being honest. As we Aussies say “You’ll never, never know if you never, never go.” Life is meant to be lived & one does the best they can. But nothing is forever & you move on. You both had the best intentions & you gave it your everything. There should be no regrets. To hell with the gossip mongers, there’s one always round the corner. They are the people who never do anything but hibernate in their dark burrows & flap their lips because that is all they have. It’s also jealousy because they could never do what you both did. So time to move forward & go on to your next adventure. All the best & God Bless,

You had a great adventure and shared your lives with us and successes so you haven't failed never feel you did :) Maybe a younger couple or family could finish the rest you have done your best :) It will be worth much more than when you bought it. Lisa and Ted I pray you get built up and stay. The chateau channels are my Tv! I live in Tennessee USA and our TV channels are crap! My joy comes from watching you all and learning. All your work is beautiful and I wouldnt change a thing!

Thanks for all the enjoyment you have given me since the very beginning. I understand how the lack of capital can frustrate your dreams for completing this project. It is what it is and you have made a brave and realistic decision on the best way forward for you. Hopefully your next project will be just as interesting for viewers but perhaps on a smaller scale within your means and not too exhausting physically and mentally so you can have a life outside of work. Job well done!

I only 'discovered' you recently when a friend introduced me to 'Help, I bought a Village'. Your episodes are the ones I've loved watching because you brought so much joy to the whole restoration process. The chateau is amazing but you two are even more amazing. I shall be sad to see you leave Montmagner but look forward to watching you begin a new adventure (hopefully with a bit more money in your pockets!).

I think it’s definitely the right decision that you both have come too. I know it must have been an extremely difficult one. You have both worked so incredibly hard. The Chateau will always belong to you in your hearts but as you have said it’s a new chapter for your life’s book. When one door closes another door will always open. Wishing you both lots of luck for a quick sale and new purchase. Please do keep up with your vlog in the future. Best Wishes x

I’ve been watching chateau renovations for the last four years. And have watched most of them grow. My favourite has always been how to renovate and château and you. It’s not only about renovation but the banter and relationship between the couple. You are such naturals and I have loved watching every video and I have never been able to understand the subscription numbers for your Channel it’s baffling 🤨I hope when you move to your new home that you keep vlogging because you really are great presenters 👏🏽👏🏽 thank you for also saving this beautiful property xxx

You wonderful people of course I am in for the next chapter! An exciting time ahead. Life is for living and you guys sure do that. You are loved by a community from around the world ; living a life that many of us would love to be able to do but health and situations prevent us from doing. Looking forward to the next chapter as you so eloquently put it. Cheers from NZ.

I just finished watching this with tears in my eyes. Yes, you are making the right decision and I can understand the difficulty with which you made it. I have always enjoyed what I felt were two real people, clearly in love, working damn hard and enjoying themselves as they became stewards of a piece of french history. Were I younger, and as brave as you two, I would certainly have concidered taking on such a project, (though much smaller). I wish you luck in the new place wherever that is, and I will follow you there as well. Best wishes, Dan

As someone who has spent 20 years restoring an old home, I admire what you have done, your practicality, and your positirve perspective on the journey you've been taking. I hope you will keep us informed about what you end up doing. As others have said, it's been a joy to be able to share in your adventure even in a small way. All my very best wishes for this and your next steps.

Thank you both for sharing. I have not been subscribed long but it has been cool to watch. I think it is wonderful that you are willing to say " our time with this property needs to end so someone else can have their turn to care for it." You have set them up for greater success. Maybe they couldn't have started from scratch and now it is at the right point and right time for them. I am excited to see what you will fall in love with next.

Your chateau, (including outbuildings and grounds) has been the most interesting one of all the ones I have followed. It is a rare gem. You have both worked so hard and really done an honour to the restoration. I am so sad to see you sell this. It is so frustrating trying to figure out why you haven't had thousands of subscribers. My first wish is for some wealthy person(s) to donate huge amounts so you will stay on! But if this is not possible, then I hope you find a new project that has its own amazing features. Whatever happens, you are heroes to me, and I will continue to follow!
