iv been twice to chatham this season . once for a pre season friendly for ebbsfleet united and the other was against beckenham when a ebbsfleet away game was called off. There was over a thousand at the Beckenham game and iv been impress with the stadium. it better then a few national league south grounds. hope chatham will get promoted. keep up with the good work matt

Hi Matt, I enjoyed the video thanks. I support a team that compete at the same level as Chatham up north. We had a four figure gate yesterday and I looked to see if we had the best supported fixture at that level only to find Chatham had more than twice as many on! I was wondering why, if the ground has a capacity of 5,000, was the game all ticket? Were they expecting an even bigger attendance than they got?

Hello Lancy, thank you for your comments, who is your team? The 5,000 capacity would be people standing 7 deep around the perimeter with a poor view if you were at the back. It was all ticket presumably to monitor the crowd levels regarding the Police and stewarding, but this is just my opinion. Chatham and Gillingham are potentially sleeping giants at different levels. They are located in Medway with a population of approx. 280,000 which is bigger than a lot of towns and cities across the UK with more successful football teams.

@@mattthegroundhopper9242 Clitheroe (Northern Premier West Division). We're having a decent season this year. We played local rivals Colne yesterday and got 1,163 on. We've been 19 years in the same division without being in the play-offs but with 3 points from the next 2 games we'll end that unwanted record. I'll be looking out for Chatham's results. Hopefully they can get over the line. Also good to see that Gillingham have turned their season around. I used to work with a Gills fan so I already keep an eye on their results.

Fully understand for financial reasons why some non-league teams have 3G pitches. But football must be played on a grass pitch! And thanks Matt for directing me to this video!

Thanks Tom, I agree, I much prefer grass and mud but teams in the lower leagues have more than one team using that pitch, with 100+ games on it per season, it would be a mud bath!
