In Indian Hindu belief if someone takes a dip in Ganges water( holy river ), the person becomes immortal in some philosophical sense. So him getting the vessel with the holy water at time he was about to loose is actually pretty cool, as explained by the grand ma. (btw the bald guys brother is actually prabhas)

actually.... the thing in the movie is that the mother actually thinks that his elder stepson(hero) died.. because his youger son(own son) having jealous on his step brother tells her that he saw him dying in a burning hut.. soo.. she does the annual event of his sons death (holy prayer for peace to his son's soul) and gives the gangachal(water from sacred river ganga in kasi or varnasi) to his son to keep it with him to do some prayer or holy event or so.. but bieng jealosy or irritated of his mother love even after his bro's death.. he angryly throws it into the sea... and the rest is in the video above...

This was I think the only movie I watched of Prabhas before Baahubali and one of the first Telugu movies I have watched. I love it. S. S. Rajamouli is simply great.
