I’ve been pretty happy with my 14’ ST, I like bigger tubes. A lot of that thinking is ergonomics for my large frame. It’s a lot more comfortable for me to paddle at raft with a deep floor. We are hoping to add some cat tubes to our fleet this year.

Great boats but man my butt gets sore when I'm paddling in one. It's like sitting on a rock. I did a bunch of paddling one season in a sotar and started to wear butt pads so my rear end wouldn't be so sore by they end of the day.

Glad you like the show! Why do you like diminishing tubes?

I purchased custom legend tubes from SOTAR. They are perfect, absolutely spot on! Cataract canyon in the “Jean genie” this summer is going to be awesome.

He’s wrong about the polyester absorbing energy versus nylon. Nylon has both more elasticity and greater ultimate strength over polyester. Nylon will stretch considerably more than polyester before failure. The advantages of polyester base fabric include rigidity, cost, rot and UV resistance, and the fact that it won’t absorb moisture the way nylon will.
