With his long hair, Leo reminds me so much of the archetypal 'handsome Prince' of old children's fairy story books like Cinderella. And Lady C, with her warm sparkling smile and diction has the vibe of 'the Good Fairy' in the Wizard of Oz. My comment was going to end there, but I suddenly had a mental image of Markle (an astonishingly fitting Wicked Witch of the West), furiously clicking stolen ruby-slipper bedecked heels together, sour-faced and screeching "there's no place like (someone else's) home... there's no place like (someone else's) home..."

I do so enjoy your Videos, Georgie & Leo! I've been a Reader of Lady "C"s books for years, but nothing brings the True Georgie out like these Videos have done! What a wealth of information this was, as well!! The information about the Brooch was wonderful, as well as, the discussion of Princess Michael of Kent & Princess Margret! I remember those times (as I'm close to your age, Georgie) but for some reason I only knew the most about P. Michael of Kent from the last 20yrs or so! I do think that most of Society has loosened a bit within the Modern Generations, especially, but in those days, Everyone was "Proper" & minded their Social Circles, better! Sometimes I think it's a shame to have lost some of it, bc certain Protocols made ppl uncomfortable, but I think it kept us on our Toes more about Appearances & how we & our families were being perceived! Ppl like MM would have Never been allowed into the Royal Circles & there's a very big reason why! Now we can already see, after only 2yrs, the reason for that to be!

Yes, P.Michael went to Kincoppel convent at Rose Bay in Sydney and her mother was a hairdresser in the eastern suburbs, I remember when she got her foot in the corridors of power...just like Markle she allegedly kept certain family members at bay...I do remember seeing her at Ascot one year after she had married, she was dressed in matching powder blue, slim, tall and elegant, these days she wears all these layers and looks like an unmade bed...which makes her look older and eccentric...less is more...doubt whether you could tell Marie Christine anything!

Leo and Lady C, I love your channel. I believe Lacy C is a National Treasure. People should aspire to be as erudite, measured, witty and classy in their own rights. You are a wonderful example to others. I wonder if you would consider having someone review/edit the closed captions? Because your viewers are from all over the world and the information you provide is historical, topical, relevant and personal... it would be a great service to have the correct terms and exact words come across. The typical CC has so many errors, particularly in relation to your accents. When I hear/read something I am not familiar with, or that my ear doesn’t pick up naturally, I want to research and know more. I find I’m at a disadvantage trying to investigate when a lot of the words are so clearly not what you are saying. Just a thought! Keep up the great work! You both are fabulous!!!

The disrespect to the Monarchy and all people of the Commonwealth is uncalled for. Members of the Commonwealth are a proud family of nations, Harry & Meghan have no understanding of this. To be lectured to by them is aggravating to say the least. How far the bridge they cross before the Royal Family put an end to their ignorant nonsense. They are doing great harm.

I am glad you posted the information regarding African role in slavery. Basically without this there would have been no slave trade outside of Africa. The Africans had slaves way before Europeans. I am not saying that makes it right because it doesn’t but it’s not as straightforward as some people want to make it. Slavery is an age old issue which the British Empire did abolish in its dominions way before others did. I have been referring to this for years so I am so glad you posted this.

@beo62114 жыл бұрын
@@lilac2haze Britain was the first country to abolish slavery but continued to disgustingly participate in it. Britain continued to be ONE OF THE BIGGEST investors in American slavery, importing so much cotton and sugar that America kept on expanding their slave trade, eventually leading to the American civil war. No-one should wipe out the TRUTH of history. Yet it still is a fact, as I'm a descendant of BRITISH slavery, the call for reparations (which was given to British and American slaveholders), should be given to the actual human beings that bare the scars. My grandmother knew her grandmother WHO WAS A SLAVE in the caribbean. It was not that long ago.

The wedding dress did not fit properly on the bodice and several other outfits look as if they came from the rag bag and not a Couturier. As for her £1,000,000 maternity wardrobe....flashing her bump while hold it in place spoiled the line of anything she wore. I think Lady Colin wears all her clothes with elan.

I would like to know how the “Harkle” saga is affecting the Queen’s relationship with Harry and other members of the SRF. This cannot be easy for any 94 year matriarch - to endure a seemingly betrayal of a most beloved grandson. The Queen strikes me as someone with great patience and wisdom to read a situation. But this must be heartbreaking for her. If I was one of her children or grandchildren, I would be worried how all this was affecting her health.

Kate 2 Create Indeed - I am also over being held ‘responsible’ for every past pain inflicted in this cause, due to being white. Racism happens in all countries hand in hand with patriotism. It seems ‘all’ colours have a tendency to slavery, and all colours are definitely capable of racism based on many factors - wealth, religion, values...and on. Still, America’s police violence is its own problematic issue.

I thoroughly enjoyed today's talk. I had no idea to the significance of this jewelry, I had seen it but never found anyone to explain it's meaning I only knew it as Venetian and Slavic. What a great conversation starter and history lesson wearing it would be... I can't speak for the UK but there are other countries in Europe who totally sweep under the rug their involvement or blind eye to the slave trade even after abolishment in the UK and US and until 2000 still hadn't changed from when I was a teen to when my children went to school. My dad and grandfather made sure I knew the full history of slavery in the world, as well as the aftermath in societies that were economically dependant thereon and the struggle of civil rights, I was 8 and owned a whole childs shelf of books on the subjects, most written for adults by the alternative press in the early and mid 60s. I have always loved history, there is so much to learn if you read both sides of the coin. I passed down my knowledge to my children as I wasn't going to wait for the school system to fail at it. This article was well written and a good reminder, as not every teacher either chooses or is allowed to teach the subject in balance depending on the educational policies of their country.

Thank you for this excellent programme today! I have a question for Lady C, which is: Based on your knowledge of the British Royal Family, do you think that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has managed well through the difficulties brought on by the Sussex’ behaviour? What advice might you have for Duchess Catherine as these “Sussex difficulties” continue? Thank you for considering these questions, Lady C - I always look forward to new posts from this channel!

The article from the Gleaner is so informative and an extremely important addition to the whole slavery debate. It should be widely discussed, especially now.

Thank you for the most valuable lesson on the history of slavery across the world. I can not speak for other countries but in the US we are basically taught & led to believe the white people were the only ones involved in the slave trade. That white people went to Africa and somehow obtained black people to be used as a free or cheap form of labor. Never ever is it taught about the other side of the coin. Wow, if it were I truly believe we would all have a much better understanding of the American History of Slave Trade in general. It will never change the fact that it was WRONG by any means! However, the truth that Black People had slaves too is eye-opening to true history. It may help some people with how they came to be for those who are doing their family trees etc.

No, I learned in grammar school that native Blacks were instrumental in leading slave traders to areas where potential captives were. It was a money maker for all. Slavery exists today, Black & White. Arabs are quite fond of White women. I’m so glad the USA, is energy independent.

Exactly. I just found out I have Senegalese DNA. There was a slave trade from Senegal into Mexico where I descend from. There you go.

Thank you for explaining the jewelry that Princess Michael of Kent wore!! I thought it *was* racist, thanks to the media! (like the awful black face here in the US.)
@caburg934 жыл бұрын
You are so funny!! Do you think she wore it just for the attention? Her daughter, Lady Gabriella, had my favorite royal wedding of that time (choosing between Meghan, Eugenie, Ella). I hope Ella is a better person than her mother.

Lady C and Leo: Thank you for vindicating Princess Michael of Kent, and also for bringing to light, the history of the Moorish brooches! I was so upset when the media jumped on this at M&H's engagement and Christmas party. I cannot imagine what would happen without your most excellent books to set the record straight. I cannot imagine opinion and historical facts being set into stone as time goes on, without your most excellent reports and interviews on KZbin. Thank you a thousand times. I have been an avid fan and follower of the Royal Family all my life. My life mimicked that of Princess Diana, of whom I share similar age, life events, marital issues, divorce, and children's ages. I have read every single one of her biographies. Please continue to inform the world of accurate information regarding castles, royal life, the Royal Family, etc, because i for one have become dependent upon your excellent conversations online. Thank you both for all of your research, and generosity of sharing in such a tasteful way. Cheers and tah

I love honesty above all else, and admire your condor in every way. Being honest is the only way I understand to be correct, but for me, it has been a difficult and punishing road to take. I can't wait to get my copy of your book (USA) to read to my 90 year old mom every night at bedtime! After that, I think well have to migrate to the Dian's book. After that, I hope you'll have written another so that our meetings can continue. So happy to share the Earth with you at the same time Lady C!
