Talking about contraception, I've been on the coil for years due to the fact of bad side effects of the pill (and having to take a tablet everyday), and all my doctors have recommended it (even though I don't have children)! It's a lifesaver (literally) and really recommend it as a contraception over the pill - both for the hormone side effects and the pure practicality of having it (no alarms needed). Doctors are now increasingly giving it out so defo ask about it

I would 100% recommend the Transdermal Patch!! I've been on it for 5 years, I couldn't take the pill as I felt nauseous constantly. The Patch is so similar in the way that the pill works but you don't take it orally, you wear the patch for 3 weeks and then you have a rest week when you have your period. my periods literally last 3 days. not had any problems, and it's honestly the best thing!!

I have been on the pill for the last 7-8 years. Although it has always worked fine with me, I’ve decided to switch to the hormonal coil. I did my own research and spoke to my nurse, who did not even mention the need to have had children. She did say that the coil was a blessing and I’d have wished I chose it sooner! So here’s hoping It works for me.

i had bad mental health before i started the rigevidon pill but looking back it definitely declined more as the year went on. i was taken off that after i got extreme migraines every time i had my week off. i’ve been on another one called noriday and i get my period every week but i’ve been told by my doctor it’s normal to have irregular periods for like six months and apparently a lot of them will be like that. i also get really bad mood swings, i didn’t just start this after i started this pill but they are so much worse now. i’m going on to a new one to see how my body adapts to this one. contraception is just so different with everyone n i wish it wasn’t so that it would be so easy to like be able to choose one that you think would work with u instead of having to experiment till you get something that works.

It’s so strange to me that you say the coil it’s widely offered? Every time I’ve been to the doctors to change contraception they always offer me the coil first? I tried the patch but ended up having a scare and then went into the pill which made me severely depressed and got me put onto anti depressants and now I’m not on any contraception and it feel so much better and all my meds have been stopped. Yet they still try offer the non-hormonal coil. I feel like it’s something they really push

The injection and implant are SO different. Implant made me bleed every day and gave me really bad anxiety and the injection is perfect for me. No pill I tried worked. Everyone told me if the implant didnt work then the injection won't. THEY WERE SO WRONG. The injection saved me lol Also I've have a daughter so was allowed the coil but never in a million years would I have it anywhere near me. Too many bad things have happened to people I know because of the coil x
