Chaukori is a small town located in the heart of Pithoragarh district. The town is situated at an altitude of almost 2010 m above sea level and at a distance of 16 km from Vijaypur and 46 km from Bageshwar. Terai lies to the south of Chaukori and to the north is Tibet.
