We would of never won that title without Joe D. Who brought in Undrafted Ben Wallace in the Grant Hill trade. People were so pissed about that. Without Ben wallace, Pistons don't even make a conference Finals let alone win a title and almost another title. As a longtime 6ers fan… it has ALWAYS been clear to me that Larry Brown picked Darko over ‘Melo, and Dumars took the hit for it. LB did the same in Philly picking Larry Hughes over Paul Freakin’ Pierce when Pierce dropped into our laps. Then he blamed the GM for it on his way out headed to… Detroit. When confronted by media over the Hughes pick, he claimed he didn’t know what his title was in Philly, even though everyone knew he ran personnel. Did more of the same with the Knix when he blew up their roster… and retired. LB got paid tens of millions of dollars of money to be a roster-wrecking ball. But he’s a “coaching genius” so owners let him have his way. The one ring he got in Detroit validated LB’s madness. Everyone knows they shoulda won three, at least!

@Mark_Ellzy
@Mark_Ellzy Жыл бұрын
@@rhorn04 well they kinda had to because Melo going to the pistons in the east actually would have a somewhat direct effect on Lebron and the Cavs. It’s just drawing the parallel that if melo is raised up in the pistons culture at that time how much better could he have been how much longer could the pistons have been great, and does Lebron end up taking over the east like he eventually did? I think the Lebron debate is a natural parallel to go to once they bring up Melo possibly being drafted by the pistons.
