No is mentioning it, so I will. The up-side is no one will have an allergy attack from this fog if you keep the machine clean. The down side is that in a room without good outside air exchange, people get a mild headache from the elevated CO2 level. They don't know what it is, they won't complain to you, and it can happen anyway with poor ventilation. They dance less, the mood sours, people get cranky more easily, leave earlier, etc. Check the venting, don't over-use.

No, dry ice freezes water around itself really well and the fog is happy to stay as close to the can as it can manage. You have to keep heating the water, and actively blow the fog

Pretty sweet machine! Gues you could get a really cool effect with both a Dry ice machine and a Ordinary smoke machine right? with the heavy fog walking across the floor and the lighter smoke all around.

filled the floor quite fast there, i like alot. Although DIY would be possible its just made easier for you to buy one if not in the know and/or want an easy compact sturdy solution for the road.

Dry ice fog has a short life, a minute at most is a good upper limit. The exact lifespan depends on the room temperature and humidity. At 85°F and 20%RH (think Palm Springs) it will dissipate 10s after leaving the nozzle. A 72°F at 40%RH is will be under 30s if the floor is cool concrete, under 20s if warm wood. A room full of people gets warmer but much more humid and the fog lasts longer, but less a minute. If you want 5 minutes of dry ice fog, blow it over a hockey rink.

If you're in sort of a rural area you're probably out of luck. There are special factories that make dry ice, google for dry ice factory London/Manchester wherever you are. It's hard to come by in small units. If you really can't find any distributor you can check the big fish markets. Maybe you find a nice person who can supply you with fresh(! - not smelling like fish^^) dry ice on demand.

in the UK google dry ice for sale,they sell it( mainly for catering) in pellets blocks n cubes and the more you buy the cheaper it gets.....also this is YT so im pretty sure if you look youll find a vid on how to make one of these cheaper ......

Dry ice evaporates 10% per day even in a special styrofoam container and kept in the deepfreezer. If you were to buy 10kg off of ebay, you'd have only 5 by the time it arrives at your door step. You need to get this the day you're using it.

PLEASE consider the professional and still 'the best' dry icer on the market today the Le Maitre Pea Souper. This is a cheap copy in my opinion and I'll be surprised if it stands the test of time like Le Maitre's Stuff!! Also don't swim through it like the bloke in this vid... It's pure CO2 People.. = Not good for you to inhale..

You can make one DIY for less, a 5 gallon steel bucket, a hardware cloth and steel wire basket, and a 120v 5" 120cfm fan or a speed reduced 1800rpm 4" wheel scroll blower and some dryer hose to aim the fog is easy enough, but you have to continue to heat the water and will anyone trust your home made electric water heater not to electrocute everyone in the room? If you can do that why are reading this?
