Skitten isn’t wrong. Everything she described was a complete cure for common cold.

I remember dodgeball so well growing up and it was very serious for us kids playing. I would be part of the team that would annoy and taunt the other side into throwing all the balls so the people on my team who had better aim could collect them and all at once throw at one or two specific people to slowly widdle down the other team.

As someone who was in P.E for high school recently. Yeah, Chavezz is _right_ on the money like P.E isn't like an actual gym class anymore, it's basically a hangout spot with a grade. Me & my friend would just walk the track with everybody else and watch dank memes on my phone and after a few weeks we didn't even get in trouble for not dressing out anymore. We literally didn't do anything fitness related besides run up and down the bleachers ever blue moon.

Even though I’ve had more serious health concerns with a chronic illness throughout my life (in which case my parents would take me to doctors or the hospital), if I had just a minor cold, my folks would recommend similar stuff to Skitten’s mom. A cup of warm tea, a shower, going to bed earlier, drinking water, lighter meals, these are all things my folks would recommend if need be.
@jdguevara932 жыл бұрын
Look at Skitten with a mother who’d let her stay home from some sniffles. Unfortunately for me, my mother had to raise her siblings from a young age, and my wild-ass aunt beat me to the punch with all the made up illnesses. So by the time it was my turn to be sick/pretend to be sick, I had to be at death’s door for my mother to believe me and let me stay home. 🤣 (is hyperbole, but really the only time I remember staying home from school was when I had chicken pox and later on with pneumonia)

Unless I was running a fever, my mom didn't take me to the doctor. When I was in my teens, I got sick with the flu on Christmas Eve day. My mom was an x-ray tech and had to work but my stepdad was home. His treatment was to make me "sweat it out". He told me to take some NyQuil, put on my long underwear, my flannel PJs, and go to bed with about four or five blankets on me. After passing out for most of the day, I still had to participate in the regular Christmas Eve activities because having a 103 degree fever was no excuse for skipping the family dinner and Christmas Eve services.

Honestly here in Poland it was pretty much standard practice, at least when I was growing up. If it's just a bit higher temperature, some coughing and runny nose, it's nothing serious and you just had a day or two off wrapped in blankets with a jug of strong tea. Unfortunately for me, I was getting really sick really frequently. As a kid my immune system was made of wet cardboard and tissue paper... There wasn't a year I wouldn't get sick and bedridden for at least a week or two, and even got my ass hauled to ER five separate times- three times bc of bacterial pneumonia.

The first ball hit like a fucking gunshot and it’s only because a friend yanked me out of the way that I didn't get nailed in the nose.
