He wasn't stuck he was going for the desperation parry. Was the only way he manages to escape. If he gets the parry he can possibly dash out and stay alive.

i think is because metro pretty much only plays gun wraith and talon is just dealing so much more gun damage after the buff

A couple seconds after he buys it you can see the stat page. Their whole team is building bullet damage at that moment besides bepop, and he already has some spirit resist worth his other items.
