I would like to add some more. For bmw, the E60 and F10 gen 530i's or any petrol models are very rare to find and the facelifted F10 comes with b48 which is a 4 cylinder. So the 530D will be the obvious choice as it's the most selling car in 5 series and it's pretty reliable if maintained well. And any germans with a big Diesel engine is pretty much reliable mechine! (And the skoda is a VR6 :) )

I did a great deal of research on Honda Accord 8th Gen (the last gen sold in India), the Inline K24 is the better option than the J35 engines. It's far more reliable, cheaper, easier to find parts and to modify. J35 if you can find parts to mod ? Go ahead. But K24 has far more options, easier to find, and far more potential. You can get 400-500 HP without having to change internals with a Turbocharger. And if something goes wrong, you can get it repaired quicker considering the parts availability.

All these cars have lost a lot of value for one reason, they are very expensive to maintain. My ownership experience with 2009 330i E90 3 litre done 80k kms bought the car for 5.5l. Again got it for this price because it needs things to get fixed. Full service, new spark plugs, new brake pads, skimming of rotors, and labor came to 1.1l. mind you, a pre-owned car will always have something going wrong so this should be considered. Then the next big one tires another big expense min 40k for good performance tires. total expense in the first year was close to 2l just in maintenance. I am not even adding fuel costs. be prepared to spend to maintain these beasts.

When I said SUVs are hard to find I meant all of them in general and not particularly Q7. Ik Q7 and LCs are easy to find when compared to other other SUVs. Altough I won't recommend them as they're money pits and you might have to pay more for the parts than you've paid for the car. But ya if the condition is good then they're one of the best cars you'll own.
