I've bought TONS of stuff from Aliexpress. Never been badly surprised. Some of the stuff I've been pleasantly surprised. For instance the heated grips I got from them were $12 and they're better in EVERY way than the $80 Oxford heated grips that I had on my bike before. I have them on two bikes now for two years and still no problems at all. I've bought many other things there as well, motorcycle and other tech, no trouble.

Hello from germany 😉 Great video. Thanks for that! I'm actually an avowed top case hater, but I'm still dealing with the topic. Through extensive research into what the market has to offer, I can say the following: This and others that are absolutely identical and produced in China and different suppliers label them for their needs, i.e. for sale. They called Kemi Moto, Bagtecs, LesanM, Fydun, Kimiss, and so on. The design is the same, including and above all the interior lining, which at first appears to be hand-sewn and yet gives an appealing impression. The interior is completely missing from the premium manufacturers, for example, I'm thinking of Shad and/or Givi, Kappa. I know from Kappa that it is the “cheap rail” from Givi and that material has been saved here and there, but that doesn’t mean that it is bad. And these suitcases from China here, I would like to say the same thing. You just have to know why you need something like that. If you travel a lot and need a lot of volume, you will definitely choose other manufacturers (SW, H+B, etc.). But if you need a little storage space to store rain gear, daily food (water 0.5l), your drone, wallet or other stuff, this case is definitely a good choice because it's a cheap and acceptable solution. You get what you paid for! Or, you can look for tail bags where you can fit the most necessary things, which will certainly work too. It's all a question of personal needs Keep up the good work 👍 Greetings from my channel Appi

Well said - my thoughts exactly. I'm a top box hater BUT I find myself in a situation where I need to store stuff when I'm not on the bike. At the moment, Lash all my bits to the seat, then put a cover on for the week - a to box would make this process more slick. I'd take the box off for the periods in between work - so I can still swing my leg over!

I bought this exact same top box from a retailer on Amazon. Paid $250aud delivered to 5000. Unfortunately it was damaged in shipping and took three weeks of messaging and complaints logged to Amazon to get a refund once I returned it, but never telling me how to reclaim my return postage. I eventually got a response from the retailer who just said “refund processed, keep the box!”. It’s still usable but the dent doesn’t inspire me that it will last too well in the event of a fall. You’ve inspired me to go double check all my fixings - and I think I might also add the paracord loop. Cheers

Ha! I bought this box (well Actually a 65l Version) to carry sleeping bags or other light but bulky stuff for my GS. I did use a Givi back plate to suit the bike and then used the universal plate supplied. Same crappy kit you got to secure it, spanner and all, so I never opened the bag. I used my own nuts and bolts to attach it to the Givi plate and no danger of it coming off. BTW... Bought from a German company for about 100 of our finest British Pounds and a further 4 Quid for postage. Packing as you described too. Someone is profiteering methinks. Great box too.

Thank you for the heads up! I'm looking at the version without the X bevel stamped on the sides for around €114 incl. shipping from a European warehouse. You gave me all the necessary warnings! A word of advice to you about the bungee cord; do it on both sides. IF it slides out of the 4 slots completely, it will most likely pivot around the point where you attached it and probably fall over and whack your exhaust end can or rear tire. I find it a good idea and will use the same tactic! My friend has a motea version of it, which has a lit that can come fully off. On of the bars tore off, that you explained locks the box to the adapter plate, and almost knocked me off the bike whilst I drove behind him. Now he uses a tiewrap on one side to just open the box on one side. Chinesium quality, we love the price but we need to live with the possible consequences😂

Hmm...I was very tempted by these, I have to admit that. On the other hand, my Givi boxes have lasted for 25 years now. We just got into motorcycle camping, and I was really annoyed with packing them (my husband just got new SW Motech ADV trax boxes. I packed one of them and loved the process. Have used my boxes until now just to store my bike gear while sightseeing). So I got used Motechs now, same model. Decent price. Something tells me it is plain wrong to put this aluminium topcase next to them. I am not in urgent need for an alu topbox (I have a plastic Kappa one which is shaped a bit impractical), so I might just hunt for a nice used box from SW Motech. They cost a fortune, but are really well built. These look a lot like a knockoff of them, some even have the "X" of the SWs. Strange. Guess I will stay away from them. You get indeed what you pay for...sometimes quality used is better then crap new.

@@theboomerangbiker1966 Not sure why anybody would buy a Chinese vehicle lol. For anybody that reads this: My box came two days ago. I removed the nuts and bolts holding the box clip thingy, and replaced, with stainless steel nuts and bolts, 4 larger washers each side for extra grip, plus spring washers. To coin the old phrase "that aint going nowhere". my plan was to drill a 3mm hole in the adjustabe bracket and lock it with a rivet or small nut and bolt, but having snapped 6 drill bits I can confirm it must be stainless! I also, for the sake of experiment used zip ties each side of the rear connectors (where you put a lanyard). Partly to confuse any would be thieves who might prize open the box to plate lock. all in all, about £2 of my English pounds. making the box £87 in total. (Amazon). These boxes are available everywhere, Aliexpress, Taobao, etc. Kemimoto doesn't make them, they are just one of the (earlier? few?) resellers for the western market. Depending on the "brand" or the reseller, you'll have a 2~5x markup price. These plattforms are, well, platforms. Just like Amazon. Good and bad sellers there. Everyday people are scammed by Amazon sellers, that doesn't make Amazon a scam. And yeah, you mentionned "common sense". Not saying you lack some of it, but they are technically right. The product works as intended, you just installed it wrong, although it has no instructions. That's the trade off of these products. Don't buy them from a reseller that's just a fake brand, and the price and product you paid for will make more sense and be acceptable.
