CHEAP AMAZON EPICENTER FIND

Picked up this cheap bass processor (epicenter) on Amazon. Can it do what the AudioControl Epicenter does?

Man.. you took it way back on this one. The KNOB (Epic center) WE used to use those all the time back in the day. They were perfect for free air speaker decks... great video.

@@RidinDirtyTX Got it installed last week, took a long road trip about 8 hrs and at about the 4th hour of bumping my amplifier turned off. It may have been a clipped signal or overheating issue, but despite everything, it sounds clean and gives the music that I want bass. I'm mindful of how long I have it on now though.

People you need to turn of LPF on the head unit for the epicenter to work correctly use the lpf on the amp

well dam. . .lol I bought a used kicker 250w a while ago and it was missing the bass knob, was about to drop 30 on the original kicker bass knob. when you buy this dam epicenter with a bass knob for 30. . . thats crazy. . .

now that im doing more research, i actually wonder if that knob is a bass knob or is it an epi center controll? I need a bass knob, but it seem this may actually just be a way sub harmonic syntherizer effect up and down

It's not a bass knob it's a knob for the bass reconstruction only basically it only controls the effect

The Epicenter is much better! I have tried all of them and as far as to build quality and sound quality the Audio Control Epicenter runs circles around the rest of them and is well worth the $150 on Amazon

Of course it runs circles around them, it’s also noticeably more expensive. Purpose of the video is to show you can get decent bass restoration out a cheap Amazon find for those on a budget. I have The Epicenter in my wagon and love it! I still have this one in my daily and I’m still happy with it.

But I have just about purchased every different brand on the market because I install car audio... and truthfully these are very close to being the worst on the market... there are other cheap clones that are better in build quality and sound for around the same price or just a little more... I installed a few of these just recently and two of them were malfunctioning on arrival but the point to be made is that we pay for what we get. Truthfully in 10, 15, 20 years, the AudioControl Epicenter will still be working as it should and I doubt that these will

@@Bay_Area_john yup, still have it going in the daily. If funds aren’t an issue definitely get the AudioControl, the overall sound and bass being restored is cleaner. If you’re on a budget, this one will do.

@@jordantheproducer9284 which budget bass restorers are the best in your experience? The blaupunkt ep1600 or ep1700 decent? I’ve been wanting to get an epicenter but I’ve heard mixed things about it playing well with modern music that already has heavier bass in the recording so I would like to try a budget unit out to see if I would like the effect before dropping 150 on the audiocontrol epicenter unit.

Really depends on the song. Most rap is already heavy in bass so it’ll actually sound worse with the epicenter.

For starters it’s $35 for this one VS $200 for The Epicenter. Build quality - major difference, you can tell this is cheap, knob feels cheap. Sound - I would say if you’re an audiophile you will notice that the epicenter is just a little bit cleaner when it comes to the restored bass, most people won’t notice it. Definitely worth the $35. So far so good with it

@@UncleMichaelable While I've never owned one personally, a buddy of mine has one with no complaints. I also recently bought a sound stream one to test out. So far so good. Someone mentioned it earlier in the comments about them all probably being the same and they might be right. They are all very similar except for the AudioControl of course.
