I just made a birthday card for my brother, who is about to turn 72 ( I’ll be 74 in May). I made a gorgeous front panel and set it aside . Then I stamped the inside sentiment and many, many bees flying upwards on a PORTRAIT style card. When I went to attach the front panel I discovered, much to my chagrin, that it was in LANDSCAPE style! I’ve decided to send it anyway, but to write on the inside, “ This was a test. Just checking to see if you’ve still got it, because CLEARLY I do not!” I hope he gets a chuckle out of it!😂
@melb.4609
@melb.4609 Жыл бұрын
Another solution, that doesn't add any thickness to the sentiment insert, would be to apply a strip of foil along the outer edge of the double sided tape. (Not enough foil to cover all the tape, just an 1/8th inch strip or a little more, and then the rest of the tape can still be used to hold the sentiment card in place.) It would form a beautiful matting layer without adding bulk next to the card folds (that might keep the card from staying shut when folded). Natasha, glad to see you participating in this online class/convention this month. I hope it was fun for you. :)

I hear you on this - lots of gorgeous big craft rooms and that doesn't exist for me either. But we craft with what space we have, and mine is a small (and I mean small) space in the corner of my bedroom) As long as we enjoy it, that's what is important, and we just have to adjust to what we have. That's one of the main reasons I agreed to be a speaker at the summit, because I AM one of those people who certainly do not have a craft room!

I've seen many of those large, "perfect" craft rooms on KZbin. It seems to me that many of them spend most of their buying the newest products and rearranging or"refreshing" their space. I think your motif of using what you have, and using your items in a variety of ways shows true creativity. Of course it's fun to buy new items at times, but it should not be a crafters' constant focus.

Made a birthday card for my BFF a week or so ago and not only did I put the inside greeting upside down (after I had stamped it and written on it) I also managed to put it on the WRONG PAGE (the front inside instead of the back inside.) Had to throw the whole thing out since it was easier to just start over again. (Forehead slap) Oh, and I ordered the wrong sized envelopes for my normal A2 size & am now making 5X7 sized cards until I use up the 100 I bought. Oh boy! LOL

For years and years my biggest wish was for a craft room. I used to have a desk at the edge of my dining room with supplies stashed all over the house. I made a lot of things and had a lot of fun there, my house was too full of kids to have a craft room. Now that those kids are grown I do have a room and I love it, but you can make do with what you have, the main thing is to enjoy what you do, not where you do it. Looking forward to seeing and hearing your suggestions on the summit, thanks for doing it, I understand it was difficult for you❤️

Hi Tasha & Little Crafter😂 Well, what can I say about THIS card🤔 Doing a lot of steps by sight is less stressful than measuring for me, but some steps need a bit more thought. Measuring the area where the centre 🟨will be attached is one, &... definitely checking that a card base is the right way before adhering the front panel & any greeting would be my suggestions to anyone. I find that my mistakes occur when I am trying to make a card when I am not really "in the creative mood". If I am, the card usually comes together and I am happy with it. 🎖️💐today, for your sweet, bright fun fold & very appropriately worded & decorated insert! Well done!! Love your fun approach. 🥰🦘🦘🦘

I make envelopes with the WeRMemory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. I am quick at making envelopes for A2 cards with a little wriggle room. I made 8 very complicated Easter cards for my church staff (2 cards glued to make a tri-fold, a cross with gold flakes, cut out with vellum etc). Saturday, I finished up the cards and took some very special double sided patterned papers to make pretty envelopes. I made 8 envelopes, then realized, because of the cross die cut set I used, my cards were 6in x 5in! I had to make 8 more BIGGER envelopes! Oh well, I'll use those other envelopes for something soon.

I have been card making for about 12 years but using my own watercolour paintings. I have just started using stamping, dies, etc. My biggest mistake so far is making a lovely card front, (takes me ages lol), then adhering it to the base then stamping the card but with the negative side of the stamp, duh, so I get a huge splodge of black ink instead of an outline. Have to remind myself every time, 'check the stamp is the right way round!!!!' Love your channel and all of your projects, amazing!

Very cool. I’ve never done one like this. Now I must. Can’t wait to see your organization video. I bought the lifers membership 😂

So love this! It’s my first time seeing this very cool way to make/open a card! One of my regular mistakes: messing up my writing &/or writing too large, then running out of room when writing my message - it frustrates me so! I have taken to writing out what I want to say on scrap paper first to help minimize the risk. And I don’t even try to do lettering - I’m definitely not skilled at that 🤣.

you do beautiful work and with a very small craft area i think you will have things covered if it’s card making or showing how you store your crafts

Fun! Fun! Fun! I’d like to try it, but with a circle in the center, instead of a square. Wonder what that would look like? TFS!

I am so excited to see your video for the summit.🎉 I follow some of the other guests and had heard about it but hesitated to sign up until I heard that you were going to do be participating. I love what you create and can identify with being a mom of two young ones and a teacher. I am amazed that you are able to consistently find time to still craft and push out videos. I would love to hear about your time management strategies. How do you get it all done?❤

I already signed up for the lifetime access, cause I knew I’d never have the time to watch everything in just a few days! Love these little envelope style cards. They are just so cute and can be used for so many things! 🥰
