Maxio + YMTC combination had some issues with SSD failure in 2022-2023, this one uses both a newer controller and newer flash memory, but the manufacturers chose to test it in China and south east asia before releasing to the rest of the world, thats why it reaches you later. I personally have 3 SSD with YMTC chips, we'll see how it goes but so far it's been OK

Yea that makes sense, though TeamGroup has had its MP44 out in the US for at least a year. Maybe the O7000 has some slight differences, perhaps newer/different firmware?

@Silicon-Insights There is probably a different firmware. But it's a business decision, Teamgroup is an older and established player who can afford to take some risks because if the RMA rates turn out high they can easily swap out the components or offer a different model with equivalent performance as a replacement. Orico isn't as established a player and doesn't have that many established models so would want to see if RMA rates are low enough that they can release globally and not worry about potential supply/RMA crisis

Like if you're just putting games on it and playing them, yea it'll do good.

Which one should i buy considering the same price wd sn770 or orico o7000 1tb

O7000, it's faster in everything but sustained writes as far as I can tell, at least according to SN770 reviews out there, we don't have one ourselves.

5:56 how is HDD speed and 1/10th of the competition "still acceptable"?

It's a pretty rare edge case, you have to be constantly hitting an SSD with writing operations of a certain speed or greater in order for this to happen. I've rarely seen it happen when moving lots of games over to a different SSD. It's definitely not good when it happens, but this is by no means a daily occurrence for the vast majority of people.
