Speaking of crappy utility belts, the best I ever had were those old Star Trek belts with phaser and communicator! Me and my cousin both had them, but when we went to play, we fought over who would be Kirk and who would be Spock! That big bastard had me by at least 30 pounds and won most engagements.

One of the best uses of utility belt was in the movie “Trekkies”..There was a girl that wore a star fleet uniform to work in that.Including Utility Belt..She called herself the “Commander”.

***Nerd Alert*** Batman did use firearms when he first came out in the comics. He hadn't used guns for 2 decades when those belts came out. I also don't recall the Adam West Batman using a grappling gun. Tot utility bets were weird.

Was a kid before these utility belts came out but did have a Josh Randel gun belt and gun that you could feed plastic bullets into and then eject them fast, taking out all the outlaws around you. Took it on a trip to NY to see some fair. We stayed in some creepy old house and I lost all my plastic ammo somehow, running around the halls and stairs ambushing bank robbers. The next morning my holster and gun were missing too. NY is full of crooks I guess.

I had that Remco Star Trek set when I was a kid. I lost the plastic piece off the tricorder, but figured out I could fit two star wars figures in there. Boom, it was now a weird-shaped landspeeder. I had a very vivid imagination as a kid.

I remember having a Star Trek one back in the 70s, if even briefly. Don't recall the tricorder, but remember the communicator and the phaser that shot those discs. That's why I had it briefly. Too much fun shooting those discs.

When I graduated from Pre-school I got as a gift a Mickey Mouse Watch and a C.H.I.P.’s aka Ponch and John utility belt set. Junkman do a show about the best and worst grocery store toys - Best, like the little Mp30 magazine fed machine gun that shot red pellets or the disc guns Vs. The crappy stuff like that toxic plastic that came in a metal tube you were suppose to blow bubbles with ( it never worked and that stuff tasted and smelled awful) or maybe the Parachute soldier you throw in the air and it either ends up on the roof or gets so damn tangled you just end up ripping the plastic parachute trying to untangle it

These actually predate the Batman TV show. I am pretty sure I had a 'Secret Squirrel' utility belt when I was a kid. Secret Squirrel was a Cartoon character that came out during the 'Spy' craze following the James Bond movies.

Your brother had a lot of the same toys mine did. My brother also had the Eagle spaceship from Space 1999. He used it with his Star Wars figures (the ones that came with it were HORRIBLE) and called it the Millennium Eagle. He also had the disc-firing gun but not the utility belt. And he had the big Mazinga from Shogun Warriors. Big brothers get all the cool stuff before we do. Oh, and Donald Duck was the one that didn't wear pants.

I had the 70s Star Trek utility belt. I got it for my 7th or 8th birthday, wore it every where for couple of months. Then Star Wars came out and it end up in the bottom of my toy box, never to be seen again.

as I kid I loved these! So many fun ones in the 80s and 90s - my bro had the Batman 89 set. We loved every piece of that - and really JunkMan, a "video game controller" you REALLY can't tell that is a Batarang from the movie? It's pretty damn obvious when it even shows the kid raising it up in his hand to throw it in the picture. Also, HOOK is an amazing kids movie. Adults didn't get it - you were probably too old, but Spielberg did a fantastic job capturing kids. It's a classic for a reason - the toys were actually pretty well done for the entire line, especially their extensive role play stuff.

The Space1999 set is actually more accurate than I remember. The Stun gun looks right. They did have some sort of compass watches in at least one episode on a frozen planet. And if you ever saw the pilot episode breakaway yeah Space Radiation Detectors played heavily into it. If it had had a ComLock it would not be a bad set.

Saw some of these in the stores but as a kid had a cowboy belt and holster set with cap six guns .It was some kind of pressed papery leather looking stuff don't remember how long i had it when playing with all the older kids it ended up getting broken and stolen.

I know those Kenner Star Wars utility belts are pretty rare, they’re basically 60’s Batman utility belts repurposed to be Star Wars. George Lucas saw them and demanded they be removed from shelves because his number one rule with merchandise was don’t stick the Star Wars name on a piece of crap. I found a pair of those Star Wars binoculars...I thought they were from an old utility belt set. So I stashed em away to keep em safe.. .they are very detailed. But at the time I didnt know about Google and being able to look things up on the internet. I recently found out it's from the 90's.. Boy was I dissapointed.. But there still cool looking.

I HATED these things - But as a Kid I know I loved them as I fell for the marketing So many times! I know I NEVER had a Branded one... Never had one based on an actual show - Always the Dollar store Knock offs... The First one though - Yeah, Its SHITE but at least it does have SOMETHING! The Round things are BAT CUFFS, It has a Grapple and String for the Grapple... A Gun, What looks like a Flashlight, A Batarang.... For a Cheap piece of Tie in Crap - I would actually rate this a 9/10... It actually DOES FIT THE THEME and has things Batman would have used in the show!!! A HOOK Utility Belt? WHAT!? WHY!? OK... Lets look... Totally NOT in theme with Throwing Stars... And lets be frank, Those Suction Cups on those things NEVER WORK PROPERLY! And honestly, WHY DO THEY NEVER INCLUDE A REAL WORKING COMPASS? They are not hard to make... And Cheap as Chips!!! Yeah, they are always CRAP, but it is so cheap and simple to have a real working compass... so cheap it actually costs MORE to print a Label and stick it on some plastic!!! But... To be fair, If you wanted a Themed set - You could do worse! Most of it makes sense... 8/10... No sorry those suction cup shite always hurt the emotions as they are CRAP! .... 7/10 (Oh! I disagree about the Movie - I LOVED IT! Wasn't great but was a nice Take on an old idea...) The Hulk Utility Belt... STRAIGHT AWAY... IT DOES NOT FIT THE THEME!!! And WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??? 2/10!!! Not even going to try and justify what's in it! IT'S SHITE! SPACE: 1999 - I loved this series, but DEAR GOD THAT IS AWFUL!!! 2/10!!! Wonder Woman - OK! She has barley anything in her arsenal at the best of times, At least in teh 1970's Linda Carter Show she had her Lasso, and thats about it! I know she had more in the comics and now in the new Movies she has MANY accessories... But back then, NAH! And I have to be fair... Given the Time period... This is OK! Could have looked better but it is at least on theme... 8/10 Star Trek - Got to be honest, I also liked the first Movie... The ones after were a load of crap, but the first was good... The Toy, Again, On theme! It looks OK! Pretty good Quality... For Cheap Crap.... I cannot believe it - I am actually going to say 10/10!!! Another Batman one - And yeah, its more of the same... The Squeeze Thing is a Grenade by the way Junkman, It can be fired by the Gun... but its WHITE... NO! 6/10 due to the BAD COLOUR CHOICE! No thats unfair... I remember seeing the Star Wars utility belts in the Sears catalog in the early 80's. I couldn't figure out why Darth Vader had a gun. I got a Batman belt set & my brother got the Spider-man belt. They were lame. :)
