Hi David. I got one about 6 months ago. Yes you have to play about with it to get use to it. But for what you pay for its a good buy. Glad you told us you can get nails from other suppliers as I've ran out of nails. Cheers David. Top man.

I've had a VonHaus equivalent for six or seven years now - same nail gun just a different colour. Used in diy so not heavy use. Never had any issues with it and eliminates the need for my compressor to power my air nailer. On a big job I'd use the air nailer as it is lighter to use 😀 but has the air hose to get in the way 🙁.

Hi, nice review. I have the air powered nail guns from Aldi and they are very good. Used them to build my 22ft x 11ft workshop in 2005. No complaints then and none now as it is still standing. TBH I didn't know Aldi did a battery powered nail gun, I will have to look into this as it would be invaluable at the allotment where I don't have main power. Cheers, Norm.

I wish he had told the overall weight, and balance of the unit. I heard a few years ago that if you could get nails made in America that you don't get as much jamming. I been thinking about getting one for some time now. Thanks for the video.

I've had mine for about 4 years or more and it's been absolutely great. Its cheap but it's the same components as other more expensive brands just in a different plastic casing. I use mine alot and in the beginning I had a good few jams but not for awhile has it jammed on me. If it does jam its an easy fix anyway. I would highly recommend this gun it will definitely get you out of bind and easily make money back on time saved messing around trying to hammer little panel pins..

Great video mate I've just ordered one and also trying to find out if other batteries fit it from any other brands as it's a generic make rather than a brand in itself. I also found out they used to have Samsung Batteries and now they don't could be they're made by a cheaper version from different company so will see whether they maintain teh good write up they've had last 3 years as it's only changed this last release batch.. only found out through my own digging in the details and online.. Fingers crossed I guess but at least there's a 3 year warranty of it don't do what it's supposed to/sink em in properly then it's going back.. 100%

Had another name version of this tool, it was a waste of money. Removing a jammed nail was a pain and it happened too often, the nail driving pin became stuck in the fired position and it leaves a big mark in the work surface that needs filling ( ok when using the staples). After about 3 days of not heavy use it just stopped working. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Hi David. Thank you for the comprehensive review! I have a question, when you went out to nail the log and also when you tried to nails a sandwich of three pieces of wood, was your power setting set to max at the top? I have one of these and I sink 50mm nails into hard timber with to problems. The unit I got, unfortunately jams every few nails. Took it apart, fit and finish of the internals are a hit and miss thing. Firing head being misaligned is just one of the issues. Waiting to see if manufacturer will help me rectify the situation. Fingers crossed.
@InTheWorkshop
@InTheWorkshop 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, when you say power setting I can only think you are talking about the depth setting. I could not tell you where I had this set but I will not be using it on hardwoods as I think this would put a lot of stress and wear on the internals. I used the gun for cladding my shed part of the workshop and it worked great. Hope you get sorted with yours 👍
@marktwain2813
@marktwain2813 2 жыл бұрын
@@InTheWorkshop Yes, I was referring to the depth setting. I was curious as I never use it at full power and nails are always fully embedded, unless a failure occurs. Long winded process dealing with the Chinese. Trying their best to blame users instead of less than desirable quality of product. Cheers!

They've changed from Samsung to non Samsung Batteries I suspect the units may be made by someone else also under the generic "Ferrex" front name.. perhaps they aren't as well made as they were previously now, I'm hoping that's not the case as I've just ordered one so wait and see.. also trying to find out if other brands will fit it as it's a generic design that a few "brands" use under different names so I'm hoping the battery fitting is the same on some others like Worx or Riobi which look to be the same aswell as Silverline and a couple of others and prices varying MASSIVELY upwards of the Ferrex for basically the same tool so I don't think you can go wrong for £85 if it works as it should and if not then it's going back! Lol 😅👍💪😎

Aldi 18V batteries as well bcos I watched another review of this gun and the guy did the test with the Worx better also.. It wouldn't take the 20V but the 18V fitted it perfectly.. He used it fine. I'm a carpenter 35 years on the tools and I was cringing every time you was firing it the reason being that you had got your fingers underneath the timber and take it from me it only takes a knot or a nail etc and it can make the nail bend and come out the side and straight into your hand or finger and you will know about it I've seen it happen keep your hands from under neath the work peirce I think it will really sting in the bath lol

Nice review, David. Good to see one where the limitations of tools are shown - not just the good bits. Bit bulky for my liking I think. I'll stick with my air-powered one that I got on Gumtree for £20. New in the box - guy's son had bought him a better one for his birthday day after he bought the workzone one. I don't need one outside my shed at the moment but I will bear it in mind if things change. Just a little note - video still comes up with WsW logo in bottom right corner. Might want to change that with the channel name changing? Thanks for sharing.

This looks like the model I bought from Sealey, made in Asia and badged, the first Sealey one I bought, I sent back for repair three times, the first time the striker snapped, the next two times it just didn't fire, on the fourth time it failed, they sent me a replacement, this worked for about 30 firings then failed, since it was now out of warranty, their customer service came to an end. I tried to get it repaired without success, stored it in my workshop until I threw it out as a complete waste of time and money. Incidentley I am a 75 year old retired engineer and hobbyist so it did not get excessive use.

If it is an Aldi cheap buy then, you have a bought a cheap tool and likely, JUNK! If it breaks you will spend the rest of your life try to get a refund or if it is out of warranty, you will never get the parts from Aldi because they have change the supplier and or the one you bought was an e d of line production and the manufacturer was just clearing the warehouse. Remember, you don’t get a Rolls Royce for the price of a Zepher.
