CHEAP BIKES! TREK 830 Antelope Frame-Up Build

Picked up this bad boy [frameset] from Randy's Recycled Cycles in downtown Denver Colorado just before it shut its doors in December 2013. Someone had clearly picked it up from ‪@WheatRidgeCyclery‬ at some point since it still has their sticker on the downtube. Found some Suntour parts to equip it with and we're off to the races.
This one snuck up on me since I've been workin n travelin n using my free time to build a solid commuter [see the Gary Fisher videos on my channel].
Fortunately between the old parts I already had and ‪@bikestogetherdenver1272‬ used parts bins, I was able to get it together just in time.
Things I would address before depending on this ling long-term: take up some chain slop... well, new chain really, fresh tubes & tires, lights... but that honestly might be it.

@@ArnoldQMudskipper makes sense now.. uni knot for braided line to leader line is the best.. and san diego knot for the hook tie on is quick and easy.. Carolina rig works even for bait fishing..

I had a Trek Antelope. It really lived up to the name. With proper knobbies, it was a real climbing goat, super stable.

Excellent yeah there’s a few things I’ll spruce up on this one and tires are at the top of the list.

Oooo weeee. That Reflex is a beauty. I have a Look Mi90 Carbon. Exactly the same frame. She’s a beaut. Bit of false advertising though by the manufacturer- it’s carbon wrapped aluminium 😅 still a cool frame
