Cheap DIY Tendon Joint For Windsurfer

If you're like me and like to save a few bucks with a little elbow grease, I created 3 tendon joints for $17 (less than $6 each). In hindsight I could have made 4, which would have been about $4 each. Ordering one individual joint would run about $22.

Great find! Keep us updated with durability. Careful drilling through the base, holes may get enlarged. Also it's best to get a tight fit first as it'll get looser over time. The tighter the tendon the less stress on the holes. Offset the holes doesn't really affect durability. We just need to make sure that the base top and bottom don't rub onto each other causing added leverage against the tendon. Offset holes vary depending on brand.

if this is polyurethane rod, what is the harness rating and size did you get?

Where did you buy the material? What's the verdict? Has it been thoroughly tested?

No verdict yet.... Not enough wind around here! But I have fallen 30+ times and it hasn't broken (see my video how not to windsurf). Just bought online. Seems ok so far
