A number of people are complaining about $1300 for a set of adapters. I think once they see the hoops that need to be jumped to make this work they would understand. Also these blowers at one point were $400 shipped on EBAY. That was the Blower, Intercooler and DBW Throttle Body. An LSA Blower is now $1500 used. A Lid is $600 used and you need a throttle body and drive set up. For a guy with a 4.8 or 5.3 and a truck accessory drive the $1300 for spacers is not a bad deal. There is certainly more that goes with both of these set-ups but overall it's not a bad deal and its new. I know it's not going to be capable of making as much horsepower but that's not what everyone is trying to do. Just my 2 cents.

I am glad I just found this video, because I have been looking at the Wipple Superchargers and around $6500 to $6700 depending where. The Cadilliac M122 supercharger is a much better price for me. I was wondering about the height of the supercharger on the engine with adapters, how much taller is it over the truck intake, Since the truck intake sits right under the firewall with I think about a inch of clearance between the intake and bottom of the firewall. I have a 2007 GMC Envoy Denali it has the factory 5.3 V-8 not the 4.2 Vortec inline 6 that is in the regular Envoy. I also just put a brand new long block LH8 in it not the LH6 that it comes with. I spent some time looking under the hood to see what it would take to use this Supercharger, and since that Cadilliac M122 supercharger has the throttle body in the back and that engine placement is far back and underneath the firewall it is going to be really tight back behind it. I don't know, about putting one on anymore. Unless you want to put a M122 on my GMC for me that would be nice ha ha.

@Ed Rooney bought em WAY cheaper...especially basic BBC ones...hell I made my own bracket with no special tools out of a sheet of 3/4 aluminum with a $4 jack bolt...
@ShawnGilbert19673 жыл бұрын
@Ed Rooney naw dude I got a 6.0l sitting 20ft from me I've built them all over the years.... Now I wouldn't use a MAF sensor anyone I'd use speed density.... Shits a dime a dozen used ive seen SO many used p1sc, d1sc kits for LS get sold CHEAP...ive used ebay intercoolers... Done it all.....its not conjecture I lived it.... A full prebent complete prefabbed for monkeys kit might cost you a hair more but ive picked up cheap gen 4 Fbody shit when people upgraded head units and to aster brackets.... Just got to be thrifty...ive used cobalt map sensors on LS..China throttle bodies .....this is well approaching a used procharger kit and by the way I have accessories....lol...it doesn't have a 4l80e and billet lock up with 9 inch 3.25 gears to pull on a trailer.... I am thinking about going to a twin torque storm because of my rather unique home made induction because I much prefer how they integrate the AC compressor in vs procharger bracket on BBC.... I bet you would be pissed to know I got my spare 6.0l and 4l80e for $100 out of an old van, and pcm and harness...but we used to pull flex fuel sensors off Astros and S10s before they made that shit and used it in our self soldered Microsquirts...before my MS3 Pro Ultimate was even a thought....I also have 5 spare BBC blocks all sonic checked good to .110 over...2 tall decks.... Thrifty, right spot at right time...and ready to move when others arent.... Now I have gotten burned buying used prochargers before to be fair but even then I had a nice new rebuild from a 3rd party.....you do take your chances being a bottom feeder such as I, but to assert deals can't be rooted out if your try hard enough and have a less patience is wrong...now just being at the end of a few clicks from your laptop sure...but if you want to get dirty, work deals and swaps to the work be surprised what you can achieve on a tiny budget....

I'd like to know what you would run for mileage? I got a 4.8l lr4 plan is to buy a junk yard lr4 4.8 hone cylinders, replace pistons and rings, bearings, seals , gaskets, upgrade cam valves springs pushrods. I'm thinking about the truck Norris cam by Btr with springs. I'm not trying to get great power aiming for better at towing as I live in desert and have to haul water. only things that matter is torque and mpg 😂. Current lr4 is working but I want to prep for failure 300k miles and running strong.

The adapters are 1300 dollars and I can only find them on eBay. Plus the 600 for the supercharger you are better off going turbo cheaper and more power

Appreciate what they did and it seems well done, but no way I'd spend that much money and go through that much effort for an M122.
@NerdKid723 жыл бұрын
Agreed, $1400 for adapter plates is insane! For the cost of plates + the blower and the other headache to adapt the tb you could find a decent lsa that has more aftermarket support and much more swap friendly (will actually fit under the hood of something other then a truck).
@Mattvardaman3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t realize they were that expensive, lsa blower or turbo kit would be more cost effective

@@frenchonion4595 that’s way to harsh of price on the adapters. I have a 2001 Silverado I’d like to add boost to one day. It already has most every common Ls modification: camshaft, springs, long tubes, tuned, and I have hp tuners now, and torque converter is next.
@NerdKid723 жыл бұрын
@@frenchonion4595 Yeah their truck kit is just that and it's $3500. No injectors and you have to deal with a throttle body at the back of the blower at the end of the day

I told my dad the other night (we totally aren't into American cars at all) That we should build a turbo LS all sloppy and have like 700hp. Just for the shits and giggles it'll give us, we've never had anything that fast ,and it's cheap as fuck I've got more in a short block for a VW than a LS turbo would cost

@@MrTheHillfolk oh yeah, tell me about those VWs, I myself a victim of some fancy VW product aka Audi) Imo American cars got a bad rep because of all those fwd luminas-impalamalibus and other budget crap, but for rwd performance cars or just any trucks there’s not much that can give as much bang for the buck.
