One dislike? Someone is jealous of Dm Scotty's skills. I could see using this idea to make small brick walls for villages as well. Excellent video as always!

Another great tip vid sir! One question: I have always wondered just how you manage to amass such huge amounts of pencil shavings?

Hey DM Scotty, you should make diy player miniatures
@jerkinandlurkin87428 жыл бұрын
Hey Scotty, I just was wondering what a good starting set of materials would be. I want to buy in bulk so I always have materials ready. I don't feel like driving all the way to the craft store and back for individual pieces when I can buy it all at once and save gas money. What would you recommend to get and what would the cost be? I really enjoy your work and keep doing what you're doing.

Hey DM Scotty, do you think you could make a video on two things, 1. A longship/brigantine type pirate ship? 2. A shipwreck of that same ship. If you can do a how to video it would make my world! Thanks!

Did you seal the bricks before black bombing? I've used that kind of foam before and it always melts when exposed to aerosol
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
+VikingFyre I did not...are you sure it is the same type of foam?
@VikingFyre8 жыл бұрын
theDMsCraft The one that feels very plastic-like and feels rough but flexible? I'm almost sure it is, but maybe there are different varieties of the same stuff
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
Could be...or maybe the spray paint I used...did you use flat black?
@antonymous238 жыл бұрын
Trying this out now. Question: When you "blackbomb" are you using spray paint? If so, are coating the foam in white glue or somesuch to keep it from melting?
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
+Anton Wilsbach I black bombed with flat black spray...It will melt other foams but not this type.

My little project is coming along, but my stone looks alot more pumice-like than I wanted. Oh well. What is the water/glue ratio for the watered down glue mixture that is mixed with the pencil shavings?
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
I use 50/50

I get it randomly from online orders. You can also buy it online (Polyethylene Foam)

A great idea for quick ruins. Is this your first vid with ruins made from individual stone blocks? I seem to recall there was another one a long time ago, using a different base material, or am I misremembering? P.S. Loving the Library of Neverwuz, very funny in a groaner kind of way.
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
+Adam Bragg Heh heh thanks, I did do blocks out of old candy boxes and glue soaked sponges.
@AdamBragg8 жыл бұрын
+theDMsCraft Ah yes, it was the glue-soaked sponges I was thinking of. It also worked well, although it was more work. I didn't really like the look of the candy box blocks, they looked fake, the slight concavities of the sides betrayed their box origins. Okay if you had no alternatives, but otherwise I wouldn't use it. Unlike this current method, which is your best yet for high texture stone blocks. Someone else once did a method using pink insulation foam. This works very well, but unless you want a "freshly quarried" look, you have to do a lot of carving and chipping on them to get a weathered texture.
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
+Adam Bragg I agree, This saves a lot of work. I often show differing methods so people have choices on what they use to craft with. I also like to show there is not one RIGHT way but may differing ways.

I know this may sound kind of stupid but would I be able to use other glues if I do not have a hot glue gun?
@theDMsCraft8 жыл бұрын
