7:20 Your "90s Tram" is a N8C which was build in 1978 by Düwag. 2010 it was sold from Dortmund to Danzig, where it was modernised (low floor section, new fronts) by Modertrans. They have similar cars from Kassel.

I see you went completely mad with EN57 trains, the Polish railway classic. It was the longest type of train to be built. There are still loads of these intact, though as You mentioned loads have been modernised into various different types. The "1970s tram" is the Konstal 105Na from late 70s - early 90s and is the same type as the ones in Poznan, pretty much they run or used to run on all of Polish tram systems (except for the one in Olsztyn which is only a few yeara old). Gdansk is actually the last city to have these trams run in three-carriage setup. The second one have been modernised at some point and to me it sound very weird. The "1990s trams" are actually some older Düwag trams which were brought second hand and modernised in Modertrans, though they still have their original motors. The modern trams are Pesa 120Na Swing and I agree that they're very good, especially with their sounds. And the "prototype" trams are probably 4 (I'm not sure) Alstom NGd99 trams build in 1999 especially for Gdansk (NGd99 stands for "low-floor tram for Gdansk '99"). And I wouldn't call most of Polish old stuff "soviet" as they've been made in Polish manufactures (Konstal made trams, Pafawag made trains, and ZUD / ZREMB lifts). Soviet stuff is more like something produced in USSR, which luckily Poland wasn't part of. But of course there are some old soviet lifts still intact in Poland (like in "Leningrad style" tower blocks in Szczecin). Anyways, looking forward to part 2 and hoping for some old lifts!

They were built for nearly 30 YEARS. I did some research on them and they were built from the mid 60s up to the early 90s

You NEED to go to Puntegaalstraat’s lifts in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. They’re wooden paternoster lifts! The problem is you will have to go there on a special day when the lift has opened. (Not sure about the date).

I think that the tram on 11:00 has a TV Progress (Cegelec) equipment, which is IGBT DC pulsing. The sound is caused by their special PID they designed, but on newer trams with newer programming, the sound was replaced by hissing sound
@ccityplanner12175 жыл бұрын
11:16 | That is a very similar sound to some of the Tatra T3s in Prague which got new thyristors in the 1970s.

Hello from Colorado, I was born in Poland and I grew up in a 10 story Blok and the elevators had doors that you open yourself and the locks were broken so you could fall in when the lift wasn't on your floor lol

Only 12£ per night, that’s a very good deal. That hostel looks quite decent especially considering the price. I’d say that is excellent value for money. Much better then those hotel you stayed in, in spain.

Don't go to Metropolita Shopping Mall if you don't need to. In the district called Wrzeszcz there are 2 more efficient Malls - Galeria Bałtycka and Manhattan. In the city centre there are Madison and Forum Gdańsk and these 4 are recommended I guess if you wanna go shopping in a mall here in Gdańsk

The Blue Yellow suburban trains called SKM (In English it's smthn like Fast city train) Has a main route from Gdańsk City Centre to Gdynia City Centre wich is also with Sopot called 3 city. The SKM also goes to Wejherow, and some routes go to Słupsk Lębork Kartuzy and Kościerzyna. While the "fast suburban train" is mostly a regional train for the Voivoedship (Województwo) i think i wrote it wrong but whatever lol. And the regional train just operate on a larger distance from Gdańsk wich is the biggest city in the northern region. (Or maybe Szczecin but yeah lol
