Silicon Power 4TB XS70 is now sold with Innogrit IG5236 controller, instead of the Phison E18 as initially available. Tactic: Sell the initial product with good specs to get great reviews, then replace with inferior internal components while keeping the same price.

I’ve been looking at the 4tb version. I read mainly positive reviews on Amazon and various other sites. I’ll most likely pull the trigger by the end of this month.

@@socketmixhe 4tb price dropped to 210bucks over the weekend. I got it and had everything up in running in 5-10mins. After testing out the speed by transferring about 500gbs worth of games, I can honestly say it’s on par with the PS5’s internal ssd…..which isn’t a bad thing!👍🏽

How is the longevity of this brand? I have other brands fail on me.
@socketmix
@socketmix Жыл бұрын
It all depends on batch and chance. Some brands are better then other silicon power seems good with what ive read on reddit and amazon. Another model is the crucial p5plus but that didnt drop yet in price like i mentioned in the video there is also a kingston kc something i cant remember the model number that was around 190aud no heat sink which aint bad hope theyll drop to 160 which would be a sweet spot. In addition some brands like samsungs 980/990 died quickly but firmware update fixed them. What brands did you try?

Hi, nice video! I've been thinking about buying this SSD for my PS5, how is it holding up after 7 months? Does it still work fine? Would you still suggest buying it? :)
@socketmix
@socketmix 7 ай бұрын
Hi CharlieAlien, still working fine, installing all games on it - aliens dark descent, immortals of aveum, spiderman 2, robocop rogue city, avatar frontier of pandora are the most recent installed and running great. id suggest buying but also keeping an eye on other nvme brands on sale as rumour has it they will be going up in price as manufacturers will create shortage ugh... anyways this is a great nvme, some have had issues upon reading but seems more havent.

@@socketmix Thank you for responding! Unfortunately I already noticed prices going up on Amazon Italy in the last few months that's why I've been considering this nvme since it's the only one they're selling at a fair price, I just hope they won't keep rising them
@socketmix

@@CharlieAlien all good. they very well may keep raising prices best to hop on something at least 2tb or 4tb nvme. i believe right now the crucial p5 plus 4tb is $329 australian dollars which is a decent price just need a heat sink which can get for less then 20 aud.
