I have a '96 xk8. I absolutely love it. Had a thorough going over lastyear at my local specialist. Not looking forward to the next few years as it will need some welding and cosmetic work.

Don't chop the roof off, I might still win in later this week, I remain always optimistic. Totally agree on the wheel design, think they are called 'Revolver' wheels, whatever, they look good!

In my sense, originality should be preserved but there might be some mech upgrades or cosmetic changes. It just makes the car better and personalized and you can look over and say "this isn't a normal jaaag" lol

Tbf, cutting the roof out isn't that bad an idea. Remember the first XJS convertible? Had an e46M3 and scuttle shake was v good but a rattly sh box.

Have the tensioners been replaced? That is the most important.. BTW, great video. I have a 98 XJR with 86,000 miles and it is a daily driver. Got a 1981 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am, like in Smokey And The Bandit and it looks terrible and I would not change it, it also is a daily driver. It took all those years to look like it does today. I has tons of Patina and that is the way it will stay.

Hey Mitch, is there a simple way to look , and find out if they have been replaced. I got a late 2000 Super V8.

@@skelejp9982 Yes, you pull one of the valve covers off and get a camera scope down there and look around. You can pay a mechanic to do this and would not cost alot of money but please check ASAP!

My dash is trash so all the wood is getting wrapped I blue carbon fiber. Purest hate the idea. Buy I don't like the wood boat look on the inside.

You want to do whaaaat? Please do not cut the roof of - you can not treat a Jaaag like that. It is not long ago and you could find a good E-Type or XJ-S for petty cash, those days are gone, brother.
