I use gorrilla tape for keep guard and anti slip tape under my battery to keep it from slideing around good stuff
@thiodorchalkias8906 Жыл бұрын
Nice idea!!! I'll like to suggest something... You can add at the ends of this flexible tube a few cm of expandable foam in order to avoid any water entry inside the tube. To lay down better the tape maybe can be use heat gun... Of course there is the solution to "weld" two pieces of this flexible belts which are used at the inflatable boats and exempt the protection are worked as water spray spoiler!!!

I use that tape to protect the hull bottom along the keels. You can make a smoother install by making vertical slices in the tape as you move around the curve. Move from front to back, overlapping the sections in the same direction the water will flow over the tape. It will last all season, and then some.

I was just about to ask you how you protected your other kayak after watching your cbbt vids. Thank you for this!

Also/Or, you can spray a few layers of Bondo undercoating on the bottom! $7.00 can ×3, 1 roll painters 3" tape, news paper, or tarp, etc...

I’m a little late but would this interfere with a hobie anchor trolley? I would like to have somewhere to secure and anchor stick or anchor but also hull protection for the structure I fish
@SouthernReelsFishing3 жыл бұрын
It does not interfere with it at all

What do you think about adding sand to the inside of the hose. Might add a little more insurance
@SouthernReelsFishing5 жыл бұрын
Definitely couldn't hurt, the extra weight might affect it slightly if anything
@yakzen41206 жыл бұрын
Good idea, removable, inexpensive, I like that. What do you think about using rub rail rubber?
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks and I could never find rubber the right sizes I needed. It needs to stick out at least and inch from the kayak to be effective.

What I plan on doing is, have a spray on bed liner sprayed the color of my kayak.
@SouthernReelsFishing4 жыл бұрын
Interesting idea... A lot more expensive most likely.

The tape you need is a tape called eternabond. Check it out. It will never come off.

Thanks. Hobie hulls seem a lot softer.

I consistently hear that the new Outback is a wetter ride as the nose cuts into the water more (and is faster). I've always felt that the front hatch is a poorly sealed area out of the factory and often allowed to much water in. Have you done any rigging to that hatch?
@SouthernReelsFishing6 жыл бұрын
It is a wetter ride for sure in rough water. AI am studying the hatch area in my head currently thinking on how to improve it. But honestly I am keeping my 2017 Outback for when I know I'm heading into rough water.
@aladdin7576 жыл бұрын
That was going to be my next question! Lol

Its like a submarine during ocean launches. While other kayaks go over waves i go under get slammed by waves. BUT I like my 2019 outback over my 2014 revo
@bradparlow15813 жыл бұрын
How would you go about doing this on the pro angler?
@SouthernReelsFishing3 жыл бұрын
You have to raise and lower the hose section along the hull to follow the part of the kayak that protrudes the most
@hunt68tn883 жыл бұрын
What size hose do you recommend - 1" seems hard to find?

Hi mate i can understand why you are doing this yes its problem but i would have used pvc pipe inside the hose a screw it to the hull and fill it with Expanding foam ,,,,,😮😮😮,,,,,,good idea though

The last thing you want to do is put a bunch of screw holes in your kayak.
