Agreed. Having driven a couple of F20s recently, then hopping back in my E82, BMW are definitely sacrificing the quality of the interior to keep the price point down. While some people may think the newer models look more modern, they actually look (and feel) very cheap.

My 120d msport 2010 has silver trim but has a knurled finish which does scratch very easily or at least you can not see it.👍

Ditto, the M sport has leather, leather door cards and better a quality silver effect. Plus M sport decals on the steering wheel and gear leaver

You've ruined it, you changed scratches for what looks like scratches and fingerprints and you totally lost the contrast of original silver/black.

you can remove the plastic part on the steering wheel i wrapped mine and it looks amazing. it removes the ugly worn paint look. its a total of 5 screws.easy

Totally agree. The TT interior (mk2) will still hold up in 10-20 years time.. I love the bmw 1 series coupe and convertible but the interior is TERRIBLE.. that horrid, horrid curve across the entire dashboard ruins the symmetry of the car in my opinion.. (not to mention it’s highlighted in cheap silver plastic, cuts of the vent, etc)..

Yes you can remove the steering wheel trim and make it how you want it, I've done it and aaaalso regarding your last video, I've managed to repair the center glove box to open easily, reply if you want me to tell you how :) nice vids man

@@erodedsenses2271 hey, it has to tabs that go in the wholes when it's closed. Get a razor and try to make the wholes bigger so that the tabs don't get stuck when you try to open it. It takes you 2 minutes but please be carefull not to make the wholes too big, try scrapping little by little. Opens like a dream, it is usefull now :))

thanks for this video, I was searching for a 1 series with a good trim on the interior because I couldnt stand the wood look, I eventually caved and bought a 2011 128i w 45k miles, the low mileage was attractive and the car is in great condition, but it had the wood panels. can't wait to change them!

you can always re-start the 1 series e88/e91/e87 aslong as you dont open the driver door after pulling the key out, you can even lift the clutch
